故凡事宜如兄弟、得於上帝之事、為矜恤忠信之大祭司、為民罪作挽回之祭、

故當凡事同於兄弟、為矜恤忠信之祭司長、以事上帝、而贖民罪、

故當凡事同於兄弟、得於天主之事、為矜恤忠信之大祭司、以贖民罪、

因此、彼不得不與眾兄弟儘量同化、俾在天主臺前、得充一忠心耿耿、富於同情之大司祭且為萬民之罪、而自獻為消怒之犧牲。

所以，我們既然有一位已經越過了諸天的、尊貴的大祭司——神的兒子耶穌，我們就要持守信仰告白；因為我們的大祭司不是不能同情我們的種種軟弱，而是在各方面照著與我們相同的樣式受過試探，只是沒有犯罪。因此，讓我們坦然無懼地來到恩典的寶座前，為要得著憐憫，尋見恩典，做為及時的幫助。每一個從人間選出來的大祭司，都是受委任替人辦理屬神的事，要為罪孽獻上禮物和祭物。他能體諒那些不明白而被迷惑的人，因為他自己也被軟弱所困。

所以，孩子們既然同屬血肉之體，他也照樣同有一樣的血肉之體，為要藉著死亡來廢除那掌握死亡權勢的——就是魔鬼，

反而倒空自己，取了奴僕的形像，成為人的樣式，以人的形態出現，降卑自己，順從至死，甚至死在十字架上！

「為了你的民，為了你的聖城，有七十個『七』被定下了，為要結束罪過，終止罪惡，贖清罪孽，帶來永遠的公義，封住異象和預言，膏抹至聖所。

這樣一位聖潔、沒有邪惡、毫無玷汙、與罪人分開、高過諸天的大祭司，對我們實在是合宜的。

摩西是做為僕人，對神的全家忠心，為將被述說的事做見證；

公義必作他的束帶，信實必作他的腰帶。

他對委任他的那一位是忠心的，正如摩西在神的全家也是忠心的。

從前，你們在邪惡的行為中與神隔絕，在意念中與他為敵；

因為那使人分別為聖的，和那些被分別為聖的，都是出於同一位。因這理由，他稱他們為弟兄，並不以為恥。

他在十字架上既然消除了仇恨，就藉著十字架使兩者得以在一個身體裡，與神和好；

這一切都是出於神，他藉著基督使我們與他自己和好，並且把這勸人與他和好的服事工作賜給了我們。這就是說，在基督裡，神使世人與自己和好，不把他們的過犯算在他們的身上，又把這和好的福音託付了我們。因此我們是基督的特使，就像神藉著我們在勸告人——我們代替基督請求說：「與神和好吧！」神使那位沒有罪的替我們成為罪，好使我們在他裡面成為神的義。

這樣，我們做神敵人的時候，尚且能藉著神兒子的死與神和好，何況和好以後，難道不更要藉著神兒子的生命得救嗎？

所以，我在基督耶穌裡，在屬神的事上有可誇耀的。

律法委任的大祭司都有軟弱，但在律法以後，誓言保證的話語所委任的兒子，卻永遠完全。
