故手垂膝庳者、宜起之、

見有手足疲倦者、則為之扶持、

故手倦膝弱者、爾當健之、

是故爾當奮發精神、一振垂疲之手足、

Therefore, strengthen your feeble arms and weak knees.

So put your hands to work. Strengthen your legs for the journey.

Therefore lift your drooping hands and strengthen your weak knees,

So take a new grip with your tired hands and strengthen your weak knees.

Therefore, strengthen your tired hands and weakened knees,

Therefore, strengthen the hands that are weak and the knees that are feeble,

Therefore strengthen the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees,

Wherefore lift up the hands that hang down, and the palsied knees;

Therefore strengthen your tired hands and weakened knees,

And we urge you, brothers and sisters, warn those who are idle and disruptive, encourage the disheartened, help the weak, be patient with everyone. (niv)

And when they ask you,‘ Why are you groaning?’ you shall say,‘ Because of the news that is coming. Every heart will melt with fear and every hand go limp; every spirit will become faint and every leg will be wet with urine.’ It is coming! Think how you have instructed many, how you have strengthened feeble hands.Your words have supported those who stumbled; you have strengthened faltering knees. (niv)

And have you completely forgotten this word of encouragement that addresses you as a father addresses his son? It says,“ My son, do not make light of the Lord’s discipline, and do not lose heart when he rebukes you, (niv)

His face turned pale and he was so frightened that his legs became weak and his knees were knocking. (niv)

Every hand will go limp; every leg will be wet with urine. (niv)

She is pillaged, plundered, stripped! Hearts melt, knees give way, bodies tremble, every face grows pale. (niv)
