我們這片刻間輕微的苦難、正為我們作成着高超無量極重無比永世之榮耀呢。

惟獨從上頭來的智慧、第一是清潔，其次是和平、溫良、柔順，滿有憐恤和美善果子的，不含糊兩可、不假模假樣。並且正義之果子也是在和平中撒種、給締造和平的人收成的。

永恆主雖嚴嚴懲罰我，卻未曾將我交於死亡。

趁有指望時、要管教你的兒子；不可立意害死他。

他們呢、是在短暫日子裏照自己以為對的來管教；他呢、卻為了我們的益處、要使我們有分於他的聖善。

愛你律法的人大有平安興隆；甚麼都不能使他們絆腳。

在這種情形裏、你們有歡樂，雖則現在暫時在各種試煉中或者有憂愁。

捨棄正路的必受嚴厲的懲罰；恨惡勸責的必致早死。

那時公義的果效必是平安興隆；公平的效驗必是安穩到永遠。

至於靈之果子呢、就是愛、喜樂、和平、恆忍、慈惠、良善、忠信、柔和、節制：這樣的事、沒有律法能禁止。

惟獨完全長大的人才能喫硬食物：他們的官能已因習用而充分操練、能夠辨別好歹了。

至於凡俗的和老婦常談的荒唐傳說，你總要拒絕聽信。你要為着敬虔之事上操練自己。因為身體的操練、益處還少；惟獨敬虔、各方面都有益處，有今生和來生之應許。

我就用刑杖察罰他們的過犯，用鞭子責罰他們的罪孽；

因為上帝的國不在乎喫喝，乃在乎正義和平與喜樂都在聖靈之感動中。

有充滿着淫婦和不止息的罪的眼睛，餌誘着心不堅固的人，持着那習於貪婪的心。嘿，被咒詛的兒女！
