以信而旅於所許之地、如在異地、偕共承上帝所許之以撒雅各居於幕、

為旅於上帝許賜之地、猶在異邦、以撒雅各亦蒙上帝所許、與亞伯拉罕各居於幕、

彼有信而為旅於天主所許之地、如在異邦、居於幕、與後蒙應許之以撒雅各同、

復憑信德、而羇旅於承許之地、與共承恩諾之依灑格雅各伯同寓棚帳之中；

By faith he made his home in the promised land like a stranger in a foreign country; he lived in tents, as did Isaac and Jacob, who were heirs with him of the same promise.

Because of his faith he made his home in the land God had promised him. Abraham was like an outsider in a strange country. He lived there in tents. So did Isaac and Jacob. They received the same promise he did.

By faith he went to live in the land of promise, as in a foreign land, living in tents with Isaac and Jacob, heirs with him of the same promise.

And even when he reached the land God promised him, he lived there by faith— for he was like a foreigner, living in tents. And so did Isaac and Jacob, who inherited the same promise.

By faith he stayed as a foreigner in the land of promise, living in tents as did Isaac and Jacob, coheirs of the same promise.

By faith he lived as a stranger in the land of promise, as in a foreign land, living in tents with Isaac and Jacob, fellow heirs of the same promise;

By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as[ in] a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise:

By faith he lived as a foreigner in the promised land as though it were a foreign country, living in tents with Isaac and Jacob, who were fellow heirs of the same promise.

By faith, he lived as an alien in the land of promise, as in a land not his own, dwelling in tents with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise.

從那裏他又遷到伯特利東邊的山，支搭帳棚；西邊是伯特利，東邊是艾。他在那裏又為耶和華築了一座壇，求告耶和華的名。

亞伯蘭就遷移帳棚，來到希伯崙，幔利的橡樹那裏居住，在那裏為耶和華築了一座壇。

他們對亞伯拉罕說：「你妻子撒拉在哪裏？」他說：「看哪，在帳棚裏。」

照樣，神願意為那承受應許的人更有力地顯明他的旨意不可更改，他以起誓作保證。

他從尼革夫漸漸往伯特利去，到了伯特利和艾的中間，當初他支搭帳棚的地方，

看哪，耶和華站在梯子上面，說：「我是耶和華－你祖父亞伯拉罕的神，以撒的神。你現在躺臥之地，我要將它賜給你和你的後裔。你的後裔必像地上的塵沙，必向東西南北開展；地上萬族必因你和你的後裔得福。

雅各對約瑟說：「全能的神曾在迦南地的路斯向我顯現，賜福給我，對我說：『看哪，我必使你生養眾多，成為許多民族，又要將這地賜給你的後裔，永遠為業。』

雅各來到他父親以撒那裏，到了幔利，基列‧亞巴，就是希伯崙，是亞伯拉罕和以撒寄居的地方。

在這裏神並沒有給他產業，連立足的地方都沒有，但應許要將這地賜給他和他的後裔為業，雖然那時他還沒有兒子。神這樣說：『他的後裔必寄居外邦，那裏的人要使他們作奴隸，苦待他們四百年。』

亞伯拉罕急忙進帳棚到撒拉那裏，說：「你趕快拿三細亞細麵，揉麵做餅。」

耶和華在幔利橡樹那裏向亞伯拉罕顯現。天正熱的時候，亞伯拉罕坐在帳棚門口。他舉目觀看，看哪，有三個人站在他附近。他一看見，就從帳棚門口跑去迎接他們，俯伏在地，

我要把你現在寄居的地，就是迦南全地，賜給你和你的後裔永遠為業；我也必作他們的神。」

你要寄居在這地，我必與你同在，賜福給你，因為我要將這一切的地都賜給你和你的後裔。我必堅定我向你父親亞伯拉罕所起的誓。我要使你的後裔增多，好像天上的星，又要將這一切的地賜給你的後裔，並且地上的萬國都必因你的後裔得福，

「我在你們中間是外人，是寄居的。請給我你們那裏的一塊墳地，我好埋葬我的亡妻，使她不在我的面前。」

將應許亞伯拉罕的福賜給你和你的後裔，使你承受你所寄居的地為業，就是神賜給亞伯拉罕的地。」

兩個孩子漸漸長大，以掃善於打獵，常在田野；雅各為人安靜，常住在帳棚裏。
