By faith Abel brought God a better offering than Cain did. By faith he was commended as righteous, when God spoke well of his offerings. And by faith Abel still speaks, even though he is dead.

一日、該隱以土產奉獻於主、亞伯亦奉獻首生之羊及脂膏、主眷顧亞伯與其所獻之物、不眷顧該隱與其所獻之物、該隱怒而變色、

致地上流義人之血、皆歸於爾、即自義人亞伯之血、至爾所殺於殿及祭臺間巴拉迦子撒迦利亞之血也、

爾當相愛、此乃爾自始所聞之示諭、勿學該隱、該隱乃屬彼惡者而殺其弟、殺之何故、因己之行為惡、而弟之行為善、○

曰、爾何為、爾弟之血、有聲自地呼籲我、

有新約之中保耶穌、及所灑之血、此血彷彿有言、較亞伯血之言尤善、

惡人之祭祀、為主所惡、正直人之祈禱、為主所悅、

彼眾禍矣、因行該隱之途、為利而從巴蘭之謬、效哥拉之逆、皆必淪亡、

惡人平素獻祭、猶為可憎、況以惡意而獻之乎、

後、該隱與弟亞伯晤言、二人適在田間、該隱遂起、攻弟亞伯而殺之、

即自亞伯之血、至被殺於祭臺及殿間撒迦利亞之血、我誠告爾、此血皆必討於此代、

有火出自主前、焚祭臺上火焚祭與脂、民見之歡呼俯伏而拜、

遵律法、諸物皆以血而潔、若不流血、則無赦免、

主謂該隱曰、凡殺該隱者、必受罰七倍、主乃賜該隱以號、免遇之者殺之、

亞當復與妻同室生子、名之曰塞特、塞特譯即立之義蓋曰、天主為我立一子、以代該隱所殺之亞伯、

既有若此為證者、如雲之多、圍繞我儕、則當解諸重負、及易纏我之罪、以恆忍、趨我前當趨之場、

有火自主前而降、燬火焚祭與柴與石與塵、並使溝中之水盡涸、

彼自言識天主、而行則拒之、皆為可憎者、違逆者、絕於諸善者、
