By faith Abel brought God a better offering than Cain did. By faith he was commended as righteous, when God spoke well of his offerings. And by faith Abel still speaks, even though he is dead.

Abel had faith. So he brought to God a better offering than Cain did. Because of his faith Abel was praised as a godly man. God said good things about his offerings. Because of his faith Abel still speaks. He speaks even though he is dead.

By faith Abel offered to God a more acceptable sacrifice than Cain, through which he was commended as righteous, God commending him by accepting his gifts. And through his faith, though he died, he still speaks.

It was by faith that Abel brought a more acceptable offering to God than Cain did. Abel’s offering gave evidence that he was a righteous man, and God showed his approval of his gifts. Although Abel is long dead, he still speaks to us by his example of faith.

过了一些日子，该隐带来土地的出产，作为供物献给耶和华；至于亚伯，他带来了自己羊群中最好的头生羊。耶和华看重了亚伯和他的供物，却没有看重该隐和他的供物。该隐就极其恼火，他的脸沉了下来。

所以，从义人亚伯的血起，直到你们在圣所和祭坛之间所杀的巴拉加的儿子撒迦利亚的血为止，在地上所流的义人的血都要归在你们身上。

因为你们从起初所听见的信息是这样的：我们要彼此相爱。不要像该隐，他属于那恶者，杀了自己的弟弟。他为什么杀弟弟呢？因为他自己的行为是恶的，而他弟弟的行为是义的。

耶和华说：“你做了什么呢？你弟弟的血从地里发声向我呼叫。

来到了耶稣面前——他是新约的中保；来到了所洒的血面前——这血比亚伯的血所述说的更美好。

恶人的祭物，为耶和华所憎恶；正直人的祷告，为他所悦纳。

他们有祸了！因为他们走了“该隐的路”，又为财利奔上“巴兰的迷途”，并且在“科拉的背叛”中灭亡了。

恶人的祭物尚且可憎，更何况他献祭时居心不良呢！

该隐与他的弟弟亚伯说话。他们在田野的时候，该隐就起来攻击他的弟弟亚伯，把他杀了。

就是从亚伯的血起，直到在祭坛和圣所之间被杀的撒迦利亚的血为止。“是的，我告诉你们：这世代将要为此被追讨。

按照律法，几乎一切都是用血洁净的；没有流血，就没有赦免。

耶和华对他说：“如果是这样，任何杀死该隐的人，都必受到七倍的报复。”耶和华就在该隐身上放了一个标记，免得找到他的人会击杀他。

亚当再次与妻子同寝，夏娃就生了一个儿子，并给他起名为塞特，因为她说：“神给我立了另一个后裔代替亚伯，因为该隐杀了他。”

因此，我们既然有这么一大群见证人，如同云彩围绕着我们，就让我们脱去各样的重担和容易缠累我们的罪，藉着忍耐去跑那摆在我们前面的赛程，

他们声称认识神，却在行为上否认他。他们是可憎恶的、悖逆的，在任何美善的工作上都经不起考验。
