昔有犯摩西律法者、若二三人為證、必殺之不恤、

若有犯摩西律法者、二三人作證、必殺之無赦、

昔人干犯摩西律法、根據二三人之證言、尚且殺之無貸；

Anyone who rejected the law of Moses died without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses.

Suppose someone did not obey the law of Moses. And suppose two or three witnesses made charges against them. That person would die without mercy.

Anyone who has set aside the law of Moses dies without mercy on the evidence of two or three witnesses.

For anyone who refused to obey the law of Moses was put to death without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses.

Anyone who disregarded the law of Moses died without mercy, based on the testimony of two or three witnesses.

Anyone who has ignored the Law of Moses is put to death without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses.

Anyone who has rejected Moses’ law dies without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses.

A man that hath set at nought Moses’ law dieth without compassion on the word of two or three witnesses:

If anyone disregards Moses’ law, he dies without mercy, based on the testimony of two or three witnesses.

He that despised Moses’ law died without mercy under two or three witnesses:

A man who disregards Moses’ law dies without compassion on the word of two or three witnesses.

For if the message spoken through angels proved to be so firm that every violation or disobedience received its just penalty,

A single witness may not testify against another person for any trespass or sin that he commits. A matter may be legally established only on the testimony of two or three witnesses.

But if he does not listen, take one or two others with you, so that at the testimony of two or three witnesses every matter may be established.

It is written in your law that the testimony of two men is true.

When its branches get brittle, they break; women come and use them for kindling. For these people lack understanding, therefore the one who made them has no compassion on them; the one who formed them has no mercy on them.

Why have you shown contempt for the word of the LORD by doing evil in my sight? You have struck down Uriah the Hittite with the sword and you have taken his wife as your own! You have killed him with the sword of the Ammonites.

This is the third time I am coming to visit you. By the testimony of two or three witnesses every matter will be established.

Then David exclaimed to Nathan,“ I have sinned against the LORD!” Nathan replied to David,“ Yes, and the LORD has forgiven your sin. You are not going to die.

So the whole community took him outside the camp and stoned him to death, just as the LORD commanded Moses.

You must not pity him, but purge out the blood of the innocent from Israel, so that it may go well with you.

Suppose a man or woman is discovered among you– in one of your villages that the LORD your God is giving you– who sins before the Lord your God and breaks his covenantby serving other gods and worshiping them– the sun, moon, or any other heavenly bodies which I have not permitted you to worship.When it is reported to you and you hear about it, you must investigate carefully. If it is indeed true that such a disgraceful thing is being done in Israel,you must bring to your city gates that man or woman who has done this wicked thing– that very man or woman– and you must stone that person to death.At the testimony of two or three witnesses they must be executed. They cannot be put to death on the testimony of only one witness.The witnesses must be first to begin the execution, and then all the people are to join in afterward. In this way you will purge evil from among you.If a matter is too difficult for you to judge– bloodshed, legal claim, or assault– matters of controversy in your villages– you must leave there and go up to the place the LORD your God chooses.You will go to the Levitical priests and the judge in office in those days and seek a solution; they will render a verdict.You must then do as they have determined at that place the LORD chooses. Be careful to do just as you are taught.You must do what you are instructed, and the verdict they pronounce to you, without fail. Do not deviate right or left from what they tell you.The person who pays no attention to the priest currently serving the LORD your God there, or to the verdict– that person must die, so that you may purge evil from Israel.Then all the people will hear and be afraid, and not be so presumptuous again.

For he says to Moses:“ I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion.”

For judgment is merciless for the one who has shown no mercy. But mercy triumphs over judgment.

Suppose your own full brother, your son, your daughter, your beloved wife, or your closest friend should seduce you secretly and encourage you to go and serve other gods that neither you nor your ancestors have previously known,the gods of the surrounding people( whether near you or far from you, from one end of the earth to the other).You must not give in to him or even listen to him; do not feel sympathy for him or spare him or cover up for him.Instead, you must kill him without fail! Your own hand must be the first to strike him, and then the hands of the whole community.You must stone him to death because he tried to entice you away from the LORD your God, who delivered you from the land of Egypt, that place of slavery.
