爾播多穫少、食不果腹、飲不止渴、衣不得暖、工得其金、盛於敝囊。

你们撒的种多，收的却少；你们吃，却不得饱；喝，却不得足；穿衣服，却不得暖；得工钱的，将工钱装在破漏的囊中。”

You have planted much, but harvested little. You eat, but never have enough. You drink, but never have your fill. You put on clothes, but are not warm. You earn wages, only to put them in a purse with holes in it.”

You have planted many seeds. But the crops you have gathered are small. So you eat. But you never have enough. You drink. But you are never full. You put on your clothes. But you are not warm. You earn your pay. But it will not buy everything you need.”

You have sown much, and harvested little. You eat, but you never have enough; you drink, but you never have your fill. You clothe yourselves, but no one is warm. And he who earns wages does so to put them into a bag with holes.

是時人至麥堆、望得二十束、惟得十束、人至酒醡、望得五十斗、惟得二十斗、

爾曹通國之民、無不欺予、故服咒詛、萬有之主耶和華曰、當納什一、入於府庫、使在我室、得有甘旨、以是試我、待我破天之隙、使盈餘之福、傾注而下、不可勝數。萬有之主耶和華曰、我必因爾之故、責彼蝗蟲、不壤爾之土產、不使爾之葡萄、果實零落、

昔爾慕多得少、攜物至家、我吹之飄沒者、誠何故耶、因爾各顧其廬、而我殿宇傾圮、毫不介意、萬有之主耶和華已言之矣。

彼所播者風、所穫者颶風、其所植者、不秀不實、即其有秋、必為異邦人所食、

所種之田、必播之多、而獲之少、被噬於蝗。爾將植葡萄園而治之、為蟲所食、不得收其果、而飲其酒。爾之四境、雖有橄欖樹、不能以油沐身、因果自隕故也。

彼不崇我耶和華、過飽則臟腑傷、過淫則生育寡、

田畝荒蕪、邦國號呼、五穀已盡、酒釀已罄、膏油已匱、土產已絕、麰麥小麥、歸於烏有、農夫含羞、場師抱愧、葡萄之樹全枯、無花果樹憔悴、石榴棗樹、蘋果林木、無不凋零、民間懽樂、變為憂戚、禮物灌奠、不入上帝殿、故祭司當衣衰絰、供役祭壇者當號泣、奉事我上帝者、入室衣麻、永夕不解、

爾雖欲食、不得果腹、蓋此饑饉、必在邑中爾雖欲遷、不能免難、蓋即遁逃、必蹈鋒刃、爾雖播種、不能有秋、雖踐橄欖、不得以油沐體、雖釀新酒、不得自飲醇醪、

萬有之主耶和華曰、我出此卷、使入盜竊者之宅、又入指我名而妄誓者之宅、恆居其中、燬其木石、

萬有之主耶和華曰、如爾不聽、不悉心以思維、歸榮我名、我必降爾以災、以爾純嘏、變為咒詛、因爾不思、我已詛爾、

斯時之前、敵人甚眾、彼此相攻、我聽其然、出入之民、不得平康、人畜辛勤、徒勞無值、

曰、我指爾之上帝耶和華以誓、我家無餅、所有者惟器中之粉一握、瓶中之油少許、我採薪才盈二束、欲歸而烹之、備我及子食之而死。

大闢在位之時年饑、歷三載、大闢諮諏於耶和華。耶和華曰、緣掃羅及其全家、殘忍是行嘗殺基遍人。

即當隆盛之時、必遇困厄、受其虐遇者、必群起而攻擊。

我不焚香灌奠奉事天后、我則缺乏、又遇鋒刃饑饉而亡。

既減爾食、十婦炊餅於一爐、較量其數、爾雖得食、不能果腹。

臨難之日、凡其所有、必盡消亡。

爾徒力作、田無所產、樹不結實。

葡萄園三十畝、所產僅酒六斗、穀種六百斗、所產僅六十斗、

又曰、人子、吾必使耶路撒冷人、養生之餅匱乏、將權餅而食、量水而飲、不敢少過、中心危懼、待餅水俱絶、互相觀望、因罪而亡。

耶和華又曰、我使爾邑中、糈糧匱乏、齒間絕食、爾尚不歸誠於我、耶和華又曰、秋前三月、我不降雨、惟雨一邑、他邑不雨、惟潤一田、他田不潤、遂致荒蕪、二三邑之民、遊至此邑、思欲飲水、不遂所求、爾尚不歸誠於我。耶和華又曰我使風暴五穀、細弱特甚、爾圃中之菜、園中之葡萄、無花果、橄欖樹、為蝗蟲食盡、爾尚不歸誠於我。

遍地無雨、土壤燥裂、耕者抱愧、而蒙厥首。
