你們盼望豐收，結果收的很少；你們把收成帶回家，我卻把它們吹走。這是什麼緣故？萬軍之耶和華告訴你們，『因為你們都忙於建自家的房子，任由我的殿一片廢墟。

他們種的是風，收的是暴風。他們的莊稼長不出穗子，結不出籽粒，就是有收成，也要被外族人吃掉。

「你們種的多，卻收的少，因為莊稼必被蝗蟲吃掉。「你們栽種、修剪葡萄園，卻吃不到葡萄，也喝不到葡萄酒，因為葡萄必被蟲子吃掉。「你們境內長滿橄欖樹，卻沒有橄欖油抹身，因為橄欖必未熟先落。

使你們吃卻不得飽足，行淫卻不得後代。因為你們背棄耶和華，

田園荒廢，遍地淒涼，五穀盡毀，再也沒有新酒和油了。農夫啊，你們要憂傷！照料葡萄園的人啊，你們要哀號！因為田間的大麥和小麥全毀了。葡萄樹枯死，無花果樹凋殘，石榴樹、棕樹、蘋果樹等田野的一切樹木枯乾。人間的歡樂消逝了。祭司啊，穿著喪服痛哭吧；在祭壇前事奉的人啊，要哀號；我上帝的僕人啊，要披上麻衣過夜；因為再無素祭和奠祭獻到你們上帝的殿中了。

你吃，卻吃不飽，仍然腹中空空。你聚斂錢財，卻保不住。你保住的，我要交給拿刀的。你撒種，卻不得收割；你榨橄欖，卻無油抹身；你踩葡萄，卻無酒可喝。

萬軍之耶和華說：「我要使這咒詛進入盜賊和奉我的名起假誓者的家，住在他們家裡，毀滅他們的家，不留一木一石。」

萬軍之耶和華說：「如果你們不聽從我的話，也不從內心尊崇我的名，我必使咒詛臨到你們，把你們的福氣變成咒詛。事實上，因為你們不把我的誡命放在心上，我已經咒詛了你們。

那日之前，人和牲畜都得不到工錢。在敵人的威脅下，人們出入沒有平安。因為我使眾人彼此為敵。

她說：「我憑你的上帝——永活的耶和華起誓，我沒有餅，我罈裡只有一把麵，瓶裡只有一點油。我來撿柴就是要回去做餅，與兒子吃完後，就只能等死了。」

在大衛執政期間，連續有三年饑荒，大衛就求問耶和華。耶和華說：「發生這饑荒是因為掃羅一家人的血債，他們殺害了基遍人。」

他在富足時將陷入困境，各種災禍將接踵而至。

但自從我們停止向天后燒香奠酒後，我們便一無所有，不斷有人死於戰爭和饑荒。」

我要斷絕你們的糧源。那時候，十個婦女將用一個烤爐烤餅，按定量分餅給你們，你們吃卻吃不飽。

在上帝發烈怒的日子，洪流將席捲他的家產。

你們勞作也是徒然，因為你們的土地必不長莊稼，果樹也不結果實。

三十畝葡萄園只產二十升酒，二百公斤種子只產二十公斤糧食。」

又說：「人子啊，我要斷絕耶路撒冷的糧源，叫他們焦慮地吃限量的餅，恐懼地喝限量的水。他們必缺糧少水，絕望地面面相覷，因自己的罪惡而滅亡。」

「我在各城降下饑荒，使你們遍地缺糧。儘管如此，你們仍不歸向我。這是耶和華說的。「我在收割前三個月停止降雨。我在一座城降雨，在另一座城不降雨；我使一塊田有雨水的滋潤，另一塊田因無雨而乾裂。兩三座城的人都踉踉蹌蹌地湧到一座城找水喝，水卻不夠喝。儘管如此，你們仍不歸向我。這是耶和華說的。「我用熱風和黴災擊打你們，叫蝗蟲吞噬你們田園中的菜蔬、葡萄樹、無花果樹和橄欖樹。儘管如此，你們仍不歸向我。這是耶和華說的。

叫沃土變成荒涼的鹽鹼地，因為那裡的居民邪惡。
