我欲立於守望之所、立於戍樓、戍樓或作城垣顧盼而待、欲知知原文作視主以何言諭我、使我如何如何或作以何詞答所疑問者、

I will stand at my watch and station myself on the ramparts; I will look to see what he will say to me, and what answer I am to give to this complaint.

I will go up to the lookout tower. I’ll station myself on the city wall. I’ll wait to see how the Lord will reply to me. Then I’ll try to figure out how his reply answers what I’ve complained about.

My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct[ my prayer] unto thee, and will look up.

Since ye seek a proof of Christ speaking in me, which to you-ward is not weak, but is mighty in you.

And there stood a watchman on the tower in Jezreel, and he spied the company of Jehu as he came, and said, I see a company. And Joram said, Take an horseman, and send to meet them, and let him say,[ Is it] peace?

Oh that one would hear me! behold, my desire[ is, that] the Almighty would answer me, and[ that] mine adversary had written a book.

Prepare the table, watch in the watchtower, eat, drink: arise, ye princes,[ and] anoint the shield.

And the children of Israel did secretly[ those] things that[ were] not right against the LORD their God, and they built them high places in all their cities, from the tower of the watchmen to the fenced city.
