“ Look among the nations and watch— Be utterly astounded! For I will work a work in your days Which you would not believe, though it were told you.

爾其觀於列邦、甚為駭異、當爾之日、我行一事、人雖告爾、爾不之信、

耶和華曰、試觀異邦人、殊可駭異、當爾之時、吾將有所為、雖有人告爾、爾亦不信、

主曰、爾曹當觀於異邦中、必甚駭異、當爾之時、我將行一事、雖有人告爾、爾亦不信、

“ Look at the nations and watch— and be utterly amazed. For I am going to do something in your days that you would not believe, even if you were told.

The Lord replies,“ Look at the nations. Watch them. Be totally amazed at what you see. I am going to do something in your days that you would never believe. You would not believe it even if someone told you about it.

“ Look among the nations, and see; wonder and be astounded. For I am doing a work in your days that you would not believe if told.

The Lord replied,“ Look around at the nations; look and be amazed! For I am doing something in your own day, something you wouldn’t believe even if someone told you about it.

Look at the nations and observe— be utterly astounded! For I am doing something in your days that you will not believe when you hear about it.

“ Look among the nations! Watch! Be horrified! Be frightened speechless! For I am accomplishing a work in your days— You would not believe it even if you were told!

Behold ye among the nations, and look, and wonder marvellously; for I am working a work in your days, which ye will not believe though it be told you.

Look at the nations and observe— be utterly astounded! For something is taking place in your days that you will not believe when you hear about it.

Behold ye among the heathen, and regard, and wonder marvellously: for[ I] will work a work in your days,[ which] ye will not believe, though it be told[ you].

“ Look at the nations and pay attention! You will be shocked and amazed! For I will do something in your lifetime that you will not believe even though you are forewarned.

“ Look among the nations, watch, and wonder marvelously; for I am working a work in your days, which you will not believe though it is told you.

Beware therefore, lest what has been spoken in the prophets come upon you:‘ Behold, you despisers, Marvel and perish! For I work a work in your days, A work which you will by no means believe, Though one were to declare it to you.’”

Therefore, behold, I will again do a marvelous work Among this people, A marvelous work and a wonder; For the wisdom of their wise men shall perish, And the understanding of their prudent men shall be hidden.”

“ Behold, the days are coming,” says the Lord,“ that I will punish all who are circumcised with the uncircumcised—Egypt, Judah, Edom, the people of Ammon, Moab, and all who are in the farthest corners, who dwell in the wilderness. For all these nations are uncircumcised, and all the house of Israel are uncircumcised in the heart.”

They have lied about the Lord, And said,“ It is not He. Neither will evil come upon us, Nor shall we see sword or famine.And the prophets become wind, For the word is not in them. Thus shall it be done to them.”

“ Son of man, what is this proverb that you people have about the land of Israel, which says,‘ The days are prolonged, and every vision fails’?Tell them therefore,‘ Thus says the Lord God:“ I will lay this proverb to rest, and they shall no more use it as a proverb in Israel.”’ But say to them,‘“ The days are at hand, and the fulfillment of every vision.For no more shall there be any false vision or flattering divination within the house of Israel.For I am the Lord. I speak, and the word which I speak will come to pass; it will no more be postponed; for in your days, O rebellious house, I will say the word and perform it,” says the Lord God.’”Again the word of the Lord came to me, saying,“ Son of man, look, the house of Israel is saying,‘ The vision that he sees is for many days from now, and he prophesies of times far off.’Therefore say to them,‘ Thus says the Lord God:“ None of My words will be postponed any more, but the word which I speak will be done,” says the Lord God.’”

The kings of the earth, And all inhabitants of the world, Would not have believed That the adversary and the enemy Could enter the gates of Jerusalem—

And He has confirmed His words, which He spoke against us and against our judges who judged us, by bringing upon us a great disaster; for under the whole heaven such has never been done as what has been done to Jerusalem.

“ I will utterly consume everything From the face of the land,” Says the Lord;

Then they said,“ Come and let us devise plans against Jeremiah; for the law shall not perish from the priest, nor counsel from the wise, nor the word from the prophet. Come and let us attack him with the tongue, and let us not give heed to any of his words.”

They also set up false witnesses who said,“ This man does not cease to speak blasphemous words against this holy place and the law;for we have heard him say that this Jesus of Nazareth will destroy this place and change the customs which Moses delivered to us.”

For the Lord will rise up as at Mount Perazim, He will be angry as in the Valley of Gibeon— That He may do His work, His awesome work, And bring to pass His act, His unusual act.Now therefore, do not be mockers, Lest your bonds be made strong; For I have heard from the Lord GOD of hosts, A destruction determined even upon the whole earth.

( For many nations and great kings shall be served by them also; and I will repay them according to their deeds and according to the works of their own hands.)’”For thus says the Lord God of Israel to me:“ Take this wine cup of fury from My hand, and cause all the nations, to whom I send you, to drink it.And they will drink and stagger and go mad because of the sword that I will send among them.”Then I took the cup from the LORD’s hand, and made all the nations drink, to whom the Lord had sent me:Jerusalem and the cities of Judah, its kings and its princes, to make them a desolation, an astonishment, a hissing, and a curse, as it is this day;Pharaoh king of Egypt, his servants, his princes, and all his people;all the mixed multitude, all the kings of the land of Uz, all the kings of the land of the Philistines( namely, Ashkelon, Gaza, Ekron, and the remnant of Ashdod);Edom, Moab, and the people of Ammon;all the kings of Tyre, all the kings of Sidon, and the kings of the coastlands which are across the sea;Dedan, Tema, Buz, and all who are in the farthest corners;all the kings of Arabia and all the kings of the mixed multitude who dwell in the desert;all the kings of Zimri, all the kings of Elam, and all the kings of the Medes;all the kings of the north, far and near, one with another; and all the kingdoms of the world which are on the face of the earth. Also the king of Sheshach shall drink after them.“ Therefore you shall say to them,‘ Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel:“ Drink, be drunk, and vomit! Fall and rise no more, because of the sword which I will send among you.”’And it shall be, if they refuse to take the cup from your hand to drink, then you shall say to them,‘ Thus says the Lord of hosts:“ You shall certainly drink!For behold, I begin to bring calamity on the city which is called by My name, and should you be utterly unpunished? You shall not be unpunished, for I will call for a sword on all the inhabitants of the earth,” says the Lord of hosts.’

And the Lord will scatter you among the peoples, and you will be left few in number among the nations where the Lord will drive you.

Pause and wonder! Blind yourselves and be blind! They are drunk, but not with wine; They stagger, but not with intoxicating drink.
