Whenever the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and all living creatures of every kind on the earth.”

神说：“不！你妻子撒拉必为你生一个儿子，你要给他起名叫以撒。我要与他坚立我的约，成为他后裔永远的约。

你家里生的和你用银子买的，都必须受割礼。这样，我的约就在你们肉体上成为永远的约。

我因涨溢的怒气，一时向你转脸，但我要以永远的慈爱怜悯你；这是耶和华—你的救赎主说的。这事于我有如挪亚的洪水；我怎样起誓不再使挪亚的洪水淹没全地，也照样起誓不再向你发怒，且不斥责你。大山可以挪开，小山可以迁移，但我的慈爱必不离开你，我平安的约也不迁移；这是怜悯你的耶和华说的。

我的家在神面前不是如此吗？神与我立永远的约，这约既全备又稳妥。我的一切救恩和我一切所想望的，他岂不成全吗？

我要与你，以及你世世代代的后裔坚立我的约，成为永远的约，是要作你和你后裔的神。

但愿赐平安的神，就是那凭永约之血，把群羊的大牧人—我们主耶稣从死人中领出来的神，

我要跟他们立永远的约，要施恩给他们，绝不转离；又要把敬畏我的心放在他们心里，不离弃我。

“看哪，我要与你们和你们后裔立我的约，包括和你们一起所有的生物，就是飞鸟、牲畜、地上一切的走兽，凡从方舟里出来地上一切的生物。我与你们立我的约：凡有血肉的，不再被洪水灭绝，也不再有洪水毁坏这地了。”

耶和华闻了那馨香之气，耶和华心里说：“我不再因人的缘故诅咒土地，因为人从幼年就心里怀着恶念；我也不再照我曾做的毁灭一切生物了。地还存在的时候，撒种、收割、寒暑、冬夏、昼夜都永不止息。”

当侧耳而听，来到我这里；要听，就必存活。我要与你们立永约，就是应许给大卫那可靠的慈爱。
