亚伯拉罕听从了以弗仑。亚伯拉罕就照着他说给赫人听的，把买卖通用的银子，秤了四百舍客勒银子给以弗仑。于是，以弗仑把那块位于幔利对面的麦比拉田，和其中的洞，以及田间周围的树木都成交了，在所有出入城门的赫人眼前，卖给亚伯拉罕作为他的产业。后来，亚伯拉罕把他妻子撒拉安葬在迦南地幔利对面的麦比拉田间的洞里，幔利就是希伯仑。从此，那块田和田间的洞就从赫人移交给亚伯拉罕作坟地的产业。
