He said,“ I am God, the God of your father. Do not be afraid to go down to Egypt, for I will make you into a great nation there.

曰、我乃天主、即爾父之天主、爾往伊及、勿懼、我必使爾後裔在彼成為大族、

“ I am God, the God of your father,” he said.“ Do not be afraid to go down to Egypt, for I will make you into a great nation there.

Then he said,“ I am God, the God of your father. Do not be afraid to go down to Egypt, for there I will make you into a great nation.

“ I am God, the God of your father,” the voice said.“ Do not be afraid to go down to Egypt, for there I will make your family into a great nation.

God said,“ I am God, the God of your father. Do not be afraid to go down to Egypt, for I will make you into a great nation there.

Then He said,“ I am God, the God of your father; do not be afraid to go down to Egypt, for I will make you into a great nation there.

So He said,“ I am God, the God of your father; do not fear to go down to Egypt, for I will make of you a great nation there.

And he said, I am God, the God of thy father: fear not to go down into Egypt; for I will there make of thee a great nation:

God said,“ I am God, the God of your father. Do not be afraid to go down to Egypt, for I will make you into a great nation there.

And he said, I[ am] God, the God of thy father: fear not to go down into Egypt; for I will there make of thee a great nation:

He said,“ I am God, the God of your father. Don’t be afraid to go down into Egypt, for there I will make of you a great nation.

Then you must affirm before the LORD YOUR GOD,“ A wandering Aramean was my ancestor, and he went down to Egypt and lived there as a foreigner with a household few in number, but there he became a great, powerful, and numerous people.

Then I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you, and I will make your name great, so that you will exemplify divine blessing.

Then God said to him,“ I am the sovereign God. Be fruitful and multiply! A nation– even a company of nations– will descend from you; kings will be among your descendants!

I will indeed bless you, and I will greatly multiply your descendants so that they will be as countless as the stars in the sky or the grains of sand on the seashore. Your descendants will take possession of the strongholds of their enemies.

and the LORD stood at its top. He said,“ I am the LORD, the God of your grandfather Abraham and the God of your father Isaac. I will give you and your descendants the ground you are lying on.Your descendants will be like the dust of the earth, and you will spread out to the west, east, north, and south. All the families of the earth will pronounce blessings on one another using your name and that of your descendants.

After all, Abraham will surely become a great and powerful nation, and all the nations on the earth will pronounce blessings on one another using his name.

Don’t be afraid, for I am with you! Don’t be frightened, for I am your God! I strengthen you– yes, I help you– yes, I uphold you with my saving right hand!

Now, this is what the LORD says, the one who created you, O Jacob, and formed you, O Israel:“ Don’t be afraid, for I will protect you. I call you by name, you are mine.When you pass through the waters, I am with you; when you pass through the streams, they will not overwhelm you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not harm you.

Israel settled in the land of Egypt, in the land of Goshen, and they owned land there. They were fruitful and increased rapidly in number.

When your ancestors went down to Egypt, they numbered only seventy, but now the LORD your God has made you as numerous as the stars of the sky.

“ But as the time drew near for God to fulfill the promise he had declared to Abraham, the people increased greatly in number in Egypt,

The Israelites, however, were fruitful, increased greatly, multiplied, and became extremely strong, so that the land was filled with them.Then a new king, who did not know about Joseph, came to power over Egypt.He said to his people,“ Look at the Israelite people, more numerous and stronger than we are!Come, let’s deal wisely with them. Otherwise they will continue to multiply, and if a war breaks out, they will ally themselves with our enemies and fight against us and leave the country.”

Then the LORD said to Abram,“ Know for certain that your descendants will be strangers in a foreign country. They will be enslaved and oppressed for four hundred years.

and said,‘ Do not be afraid, Paul! You must stand before Caesar, and God has graciously granted you the safety of all who are sailing with you.’

The LORD appeared to Isaac and said,“ Do not go down to Egypt; settle down in the land that I will point out to you.Stay in this land. Then I will be with you and will bless you, for I will give all these lands to you and to your descendants, and I will fulfill the solemn promise I made to your father Abraham.

The LORD your God has increased your population to the point that you are now as numerous as the very stars of the sky.

I will give all the land that you see to you and your descendants forever.And I will make your descendants like the dust of the earth, so that if anyone is able to count the dust of the earth, then your descendants also can be counted.

After these things the word of the LORD came to Abram in a vision:“ Fear not, Abram! I am your shield and the one who will reward you in great abundance.”

Gedaliah, the son of Ahikam and grandson of Shaphan, took an oath so as to give them and their troops some assurance of safety.“ Do not be afraid to submit to the Babylonians. Settle down in the land and submit to the king of Babylon. Then things will go well for you.
