當我們來到一處住宿的地方，打開自己的袋子，看哪，各人的銀子都在自己的袋子口，重量分文不少。現在我們手上帶著這些銀子回來了。我們手上又帶了另外的銀子下來買糧。我們不知道頭一次是誰把銀子放在我們的袋子裡。」

這是因為，那「不可通姦，不可殺人，不可偷竊，不可貪心」的誡命，或是別的什麼誡命，都包含在「要愛鄰如己」這一句話裡了。

後來他們倒空自己的袋子，看哪，各人的銀囊都在自己的袋子裡！他們和父親看見銀囊就都害怕。

因為那遵守整個律法的人，只在一條上跌倒，就成了干犯所有律法的了。原來那位說過「不可通姦」的，也說過「不可殺人」。你即使不通姦，卻殺人，你還是成了違犯律法的人。

你們手中要拿上雙倍的銀子，親手帶回那歸還在你們袋子口的銀子，那或許是個失誤。

那個人就問：「哪些誡命呢？」耶穌回答說：「不可殺人、不可通姦、不可偷竊、不可做偽證、

他們對他說：「我主為什麼說這樣的話呢？你的僕人們絕不會做這樣的事。

到了一處住宿的地方，其中一個人打開自己的袋子，要拿飼料餵驢，卻看見了自己的銀子，看哪，就在袋子口！

他們彼此說：「我們在弟弟的事上實在有罪。他懇求我們的時候，我們見他心中苦楚，卻不肯聽，所以現在這苦楚臨到我們了。」
