When Joseph saw Benjamin with them, he said to the servant who was over his household,“ Bring the men to the house. Slaughter an animal and prepare it, for the men will eat with me at noon.”

When Joseph saw Benjamin with them, he said to the steward of his house,“ Take these men to my house, slaughter an animal and prepare a meal; they are to eat with me at noon.”

When Joseph saw Benjamin with them, he spoke to the manager of his house.“ Take these men to my house,” he said.“ Kill an animal and prepare a meal. I want them to eat with me at noon.”

He instructed the servant who was over his household,“ Fill the sacks of the men with as much food as they can carry and put each man’s money in the mouth of his sack.

So they approached the man who was in charge of Joseph’s household and spoke to him at the entrance to the house.

So Isaac held a feast for them and they celebrated.

She has prepared her meat, she has mixed her wine; she also has arranged her table.

Then Jacob offered a sacrifice on the mountain and invited his relatives to eat the meal. They ate the meal and spent the night on the mountain.

Should I take my bread and my water and my meat that I have slaughtered for my shearers and give them to these men? I don’t even know where they came from!”

So Joseph found favor in his sight and became his personal attendant. Potiphar appointed Joseph overseer of his household and put him in charge of everything he owned.From the time Potiphar appointed him over his household and over all that he owned, the LORD blessed the Egyptian’s household for Joseph’s sake. The blessing of the LORD was on everything that he had, both in his house and in his fields.

Abraham said to his servant, the senior one in his household who was in charge of everything he had,“ Put your hand under my thighso that I may make you solemnly promise by the LORD, the God of heaven and the God of the earth: You must not acquire a wife for my son from the daughters of the Canaanites, among whom I am living.You must go instead to my country and to my relatives to find a wife for my son Isaac.”The servant asked him,“ What if the woman is not willing to come back with me to this land? Must I then take your son back to the land from which you came?”“ Be careful never to take my son back there!” Abraham told him.“ The LORD, the God of heaven, who took me from my father’s house and the land of my relatives, promised me with a solemn oath,‘ To your descendants I will give this land.’ He will send his angel before you so that you may find a wife for my son from there.But if the woman is not willing to come back with you, you will be free from this oath of mine. But you must not take my son back there!”So the servant placed his hand under the thigh of his master Abraham and gave his solemn promise he would carry out his wishes.Then the servant took ten of his master’s camels and departed with all kinds of gifts from his master at his disposal. He journeyed to the region of Aram Naharaim and the city of Nahor.

But Abram said,“ O sovereign LORD, what will you give me since I continue to be childless, and my heir is Eliezer of Damascus?”

They had not gone very far from the city when Joseph said to the servant who was over his household,“ Pursue the men at once! When you overtake them, say to them,‘ Why have you repaid good with evil?

The child grew and was weaned. Abraham prepared a great feast on the day that Isaac was weaned.
