當時治理埃及地的執政者就是約瑟；賣糧食給那地的眾民的就是他。約瑟的哥哥們來了，就面伏於地向約瑟下拜。

約瑟收聚了埃及地和迦南地所找得着的銀子，就是眾人買穀子的銀子；約瑟把那銀子帶進法老宮裏。埃及地和迦南地的銀子都花完了；埃及眾人就來見約瑟說：『給我們食物吧；我們為甚麼只因銀子用盡了而當着你面前白死呢？』約瑟說：『若是銀子用盡了，儘管把你們的牲畜給我，我就以你們的牲畜為代價、給你們食物。』於是他們把牲畜帶到約瑟那裏，約瑟就把食物給了他們，換來了馬、羊羣、牛羣和驢。那一年就這樣以他們所有的牲畜為代價將食物養活他們。那一年完了，第二年他們又來見約瑟說：『我們不向我主隱瞞；我們的銀子都花完了，牲畜家獸也都歸了我主了：我們在我主眼前，除了我們的身體和田地之外，一無所剩。我們為甚麼要連本身帶田地都白死在你眼前呢？用食物買我們和我們的田地吧，我們和我們的田地就可以供法老使用了。給我們種子吧，我們就可以活着，不至於死，田地也不至於荒涼了。』於是約瑟為法老買了埃及所有的田地，這是因為饑荒很厲害地迫着埃及人，以致埃及人各都賣了自己的田地，那地就都歸了法老。至於人民呢，約瑟就叫他們做奴隸，從埃及境內這邊，直到那邊。惟有祭司的田地、約瑟沒有買，因為祭司有從法老發的糧餉；他們喫法老所給的糧餉，所以他們不賣他們的田地。約瑟對人民說：『看哪，我今天替法老買了你們和你們的田地；看哪，這裏有種子給了你們，你們可以種地。到出產的時候，你們要把五分之一給法老，四分可以歸你們自己，做田地裏的種子，做你們和你們家人的食物，做你們那些幼小者的食物。』

因為那日子總必臨到住全地上一切的人。

七十年終了以後，永恆主便眷顧推羅，推羅就仍得利，跟地上世界的萬國交易。

他對我說：『這是發出的咒詛、行於全地上的：凡偷竊的必按卷上這面的話被清除；凡奉我名起假誓的必按卷上那面的話被清除。

他從一本造了萬國的人住在全地上，又立定安排好了的時期和他們居處的疆界，
