Now it happened at the end of two full years that Pharaoh had a dream, and behold, he was standing by the Nile.

When two full years had passed, Pharaoh had a dream: He was standing by the Nile,

When two full years had passed, Pharaoh had a dream. In his dream, he was standing by the Nile River.

After two whole years, Pharaoh dreamed that he was standing by the Nile,

Two full years later, Pharaoh dreamed that he was standing on the bank of the Nile River.

At the end of two years Pharaoh had a dream: He was standing beside the Nile,

Then it came to pass, at the end of two full years, that Pharaoh had a dream; and behold, he stood by the river.

And it came to pass at the end of two full years, that Pharaoh dreamed: and, behold, he stood by the river.

Two years later Pharaoh had a dream: He was standing beside the Nile,

And it came to pass at the end of two full years, that Pharaoh dreamed: and, behold, he stood by the river.

At the end of two full years Pharaoh had a dream. As he was standing by the Nile,

At the end of two full years, Pharaoh dreamed, and behold, he stood by the river.

And while he was sitting on the judgment seat, his wife sent him a message, saying,“ See that you have nothing to do with that righteous Man; for last night I suffered greatly in a dream because of Him.”

And Laban said to him,“ You certainly are my bone and my flesh.” And he stayed with him a month.

The land of Egypt will become a desolation and place of ruins. Then they will know that I am the Lord.“ Because you said,‘ The Nile is mine, and I have made it,’

But if they will not believe even these two signs nor pay attention to what you say, then you shall take some water from the Nile and pour it on the dry ground; and the water which you take from the Nile will turn into blood on the dry ground.”

Then the cupbearer and the baker for the king of Egypt, who were confined in the prison, both had a dream the same night, each man with his own dream and each dream with its own interpretation.

The waters from the sea will dry up, And the river will be parched and dry.

For the land, into which you are entering to possess it, is not like the land of Egypt from which you came, where you used to sow your seed and water it by your foot like a vegetable garden.

During that night the king could not sleep, so he gave an order to bring the book of records, the chronicles, and they were read before the king.

Speak and say,‘ This is what the Lord God says:“ Behold, I am against you, Pharaoh king of Egypt, The great monster that lies in the midst of his canals, That has said,‘ My Nile is mine, and I myself have made it.’

So he fled with all that he had; and he got up and crossed the Euphrates River, and set out for the hill country of Gilead.

Then Pharaoh commanded all his people, saying,“ Every son who is born, you are to throw into the Nile, but every daughter, you are to keep alive.”

But God came to Abimelech in a dream of the night, and said to him,“ Behold, you are a dead man because of the woman whom you have taken, for she is married.”

In a dream, a vision of the night, When deep sleep falls on people, While they slumber in their beds,Then He opens the ears of people, And horrifies them with warnings,

I saw a dream and it startled me; and these appearances as I lay on my bed and the visions in my mind kept alarming me.So I gave orders to bring into my presence all the wise men of Babylon, so that they might make known to me the interpretation of the dream.Then the soothsayer priests, the sorcerers, the Chaldeans, and the diviners came in and I related the dream to them, but they could not make its interpretation known to me.But finally Daniel came in before me, whose name is Belteshazzar according to the name of my god, and in whom is a spirit of the holy gods; and I related the dream to him, saying,‘ Belteshazzar, chief of the soothsayer priests, since I know that a spirit of the holy gods is in you and no secret baffles you, tell me the visions of my dream which I have seen, along with its interpretation.‘ Now these were the visions in my mind as I lay on my bed: I was looking, and behold, there was a tree in the middle of the earth and its height was great.The tree grew large and became strong And its height reached to the sky, And it was visible to the end of the whole earth.Its foliage was beautiful and its fruit abundant, And in it was food for all. The animals of the field found shade under it, And the birds of the sky lived in its branches, And all living creatures fed from it.‘ I was looking in the visions in my mind as I lay on my bed, and behold, an angelic watcher, a holy one, descended from heaven.He shouted out and spoke as follows:“ Chop down the tree and cut off its branches, Shake off its foliage and scatter its fruit; Let the animals flee from under it And the birds from its branches.Yet leave the stump with its roots in the ground, But with a band of iron and bronze around it In the new grass of the field; And let him be drenched with the dew of heaven, And let him share with the animals in the grass of the earth.Let his mind change from that of a human And let an animal’s mind be given to him, And let seven periods of time pass over him.This sentence is by the decree of the angelic watchers, And the decision is a command of the holy ones, In order that the living may know That the Most High is ruler over the realm of mankind, And He grants it to whomever He wishes And sets over it the lowliest of people.”This is the dream that I, King Nebuchadnezzar, have seen. Now you, Belteshazzar, tell me its interpretation, since none of the wise men of my kingdom is able to make known to me the interpretation; but you are able, because a spirit of the holy gods is in you.’

In the first year of Belshazzar king of Babylon, Daniel saw a dream and visions in his mind as he lay on his bed; then he wrote the dream down and told the following summary of it.Daniel said,“ I was looking in my vision by night, and behold, the four winds of heaven were stirring up the great sea.And four great beasts were coming up from the sea, different from one another.The first was like a lion but had the wings of an eagle. I kept looking until its wings were plucked, and it was lifted up from the ground and set up on two feet like a man; a human mind also was given to it.And behold, another beast, a second one, resembling a bear. And it was raised up on one side, and three ribs were in its mouth between its teeth; and they said this to it:‘ Arise, devour much meat!’After this I kept looking, and behold, another one, like a leopard, which had on its back four wings of a bird; the beast also had four heads, and dominion was given to it.After this I kept looking in the night visions, and behold, a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, and extremely strong; and it had large iron teeth. It devoured and crushed, and trampled down the remainder with its feet; and it was different from all the beasts that were before it, and it had ten horns.While I was thinking about the horns, behold, another horn, a little one, came up among them, and three of the previous horns were plucked out before it; and behold, this horn possessed eyes like human eyes, and a mouth uttering great boasts.

Now in the second year of the reign of Nebuchadnezzar, Nebuchadnezzar had dreams; and his spirit was troubled and his sleep left him.Then the king gave orders to call in the soothsayer priests, the conjurers, the sorcerers, and the Chaldeans, to tell the king his dreams. So they came in and stood before the king.The king said to them,“ I had a dream, and my spirit is anxious to understand the dream.”

Then Joseph had a dream, and when he told it to his brothers, they hated him even more.He said to them,“ Please listen to this dream which I have had;for behold, we were binding sheaves in the field, and behold, my sheaf stood up and also remained standing; and behold, your sheaves gathered around and bowed down to my sheaf.”Then his brothers said to him,“ Are you actually going to reign over us? Or are you really going to rule over us?” So they hated him even more for his dreams and for his words.Then he had yet another dream, and informed his brothers of it, and said,“ Behold, I have had yet another dream; and behold, the sun and the moon, and eleven stars were bowing down to me.”He also told it to his father as well as to his brothers; and his father rebuked him and said to him,“ What is this dream that you have had? Am I and your mother and your brothers actually going to come to bow down to the ground before you?”

When Gideon came, behold, a man was relating a dream to his friend. And he said,“ Behold, I had a dream; a loaf of barley bread was tumbling into the camp of Midian, and it came to the tent and struck it so that it fell, and turned it upside down so that the tent collapsed.”And his friend replied,“ This is nothing other than the sword of Gideon the son of Joash, a man of Israel; God has handed over to him Midian and all the camp.”
