They said to him,“ We have had dreams, and there is no one to interpret them.” And Joseph said to them,“ Do not interpretations belong to God? Please tell them to me.”

他们回答他：“我们各人作了一个梦，但没有人能够解释。”约瑟对他们说：“解梦不是出于神吗？请把梦告诉我吧。”

曰、我儕得夢、無人能占、曰、占夢豈非由於上帝乎、請述於我、○

曰、我儕得夢、無人能占其兆。約瑟曰、占其兆者、由於上帝所示、請述其詳。

曰、我儕得夢、無人能解、約瑟曰、解夢非由天主乎、請述於我、

“ We both had dreams,” they answered,“ but there is no one to interpret them.” Then Joseph said to them,“ Do not interpretations belong to God? Tell me your dreams.”

“ We both had dreams,” they answered.“ But no one can tell us what they mean.” Then Joseph said to them,“ Only God knows what dreams mean. Tell me your dreams.”

And they replied,“ We both had dreams last night, but no one can tell us what they mean.”“ Interpreting dreams is God’s business,” Joseph replied.“ Go ahead and tell me your dreams.”

“ We had dreams,” they said to him,“ but there is no one to interpret them.” Then Joseph said to them,“ Don’t interpretations belong to God? Tell me your dreams.”

And they said to him,“ We have had a dream, and there is no one to interpret it.” Then Joseph said to them,“ Do interpretations not belong to God? Tell it to me, please.”

And they said to him,“ We each have had a dream, and there is no interpreter of it.” So Joseph said to them,“ Do not interpretations belong to God? Tell them to me, please.”

And they said unto him, We have dreamed a dream, and there is none that can interpret it. And Joseph said unto them, Do not interpretations belong to God? tell it me, I pray you.

“ We had dreams,” they said to him,“ but there is no one to interpret them.” Then Joseph said to them,“ Don’t interpretations belong to God? Tell me your dreams.”

And they said unto him, We have dreamed a dream, and[ there is] no interpreter of it. And Joseph said unto them,[ Do] not interpretations[ belong] to God? tell me[ them], I pray you.

They told him,“ We both had dreams, but there is no one to interpret them.” Joseph responded,“ Don’t interpretations belong to God? Tell them to me.”

They said to him,“ We have dreamed a dream, and there is no one who can interpret it.” Joseph said to them,“ Don’t interpretations belong to God? Please tell it to me.”

And Pharaoh said to Joseph,“ I have had a dream, and there is no one who can interpret it. I have heard it said of you that when you hear a dream you can interpret it.”Joseph answered Pharaoh,“ It is not in me; God will give Pharaoh a favorable answer.”

The king answered and said to Daniel,“ Truly, your God is God of gods and Lord of kings, and a revealer of mysteries, for you have been able to reveal this mystery.”

but there is a God in heaven who reveals mysteries, and he has made known to King Nebuchadnezzar what will be in the latter days. Your dream and the visions of your head as you lay in bed are these:

to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another the ability to distinguish between spirits, to another various kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues.All these are empowered by one and the same Spirit, who apportions to each one individually as he wills.

“ For the Lord God does nothing without revealing his secret to his servants the prophets.

The friendship of the Lord is for those who fear him, and he makes known to them his covenant.

At last Daniel came in before me— he who was named Belteshazzar after the name of my god, and in whom is the spirit of the holy gods— and I told him the dream, saying,

There is a man in your kingdom in whom is the spirit of the holy gods. In the days of your father, light and understanding and wisdom like the wisdom of the gods were found in him, and King Nebuchadnezzar, your father— your father the king— made him chief of the magicians, enchanters, Chaldeans, and astrologers,because an excellent spirit, knowledge, and understanding to interpret dreams, explain riddles, and solve problems were found in this Daniel, whom the king named Belteshazzar. Now let Daniel be called, and he will show the interpretation.”Then Daniel was brought in before the king. The king answered and said to Daniel,“ You are that Daniel, one of the exiles of Judah, whom the king my father brought from Judah.I have heard of you that the spirit of the gods is in you, and that light and understanding and excellent wisdom are found in you.Now the wise men, the enchanters, have been brought in before me to read this writing and make known to me its interpretation, but they could not show the interpretation of the matter.

The thing that the king asks is difficult, and no one can show it to the king except the gods, whose dwelling is not with flesh.”

In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falls on men, while they slumber on their beds,then he opens the ears of men and terrifies them with warnings,

And when they say to you,“ Inquire of the mediums and the necromancers who chirp and mutter,” should not a people inquire of their God? Should they inquire of the dead on behalf of the living?
