因着信，亞伯獻祭給神比該隱所獻的更美，因此獲得了讚許為義人，神親自悅納了他的禮物。他雖然死了，卻因這信仍舊在說話。

你要將一切頭生的獻給耶和華；你牲畜中頭生的，公的都歸耶和華。

你要以財物和一切初熟的土產尊崇耶和華，

按着律法，幾乎每樣東西都是用血潔淨的；沒有流血，就沒有赦罪。

但是頭生的牛，或頭生的綿羊，或頭生的山羊，卻不可贖，因為牠們都是聖的。要把牠們的血灑在祭壇上，把牠們的脂肪焚燒，當作馨香的火祭獻給耶和華。

記念你的一切祭物，悅納你的燔祭，（細拉）

於是，耶和華降下火來，燒盡燔祭、木柴、石頭、塵土，又燒乾了溝裏的水。

凡住在地上、名字從創世以來沒有記在被殺羔羊的生命冊上的人都要拜牠。

大衛在那裏為耶和華築了一座壇，獻燔祭和平安祭，求告耶和華。耶和華就應允他，使火從天降在燔祭壇上。

所羅門祈禱完畢，就有火從天降下來，燒盡燔祭和祭物。耶和華的榮光充滿了殿；

日落天黑的時候，看哪，有冒煙的爐和燒着的火把從那些肉塊中經過。

有火從耶和華面前出來，焚燒了壇上的燔祭和脂肪；全體百姓一看見，就都歡呼，臉伏於地。

凡最好的新油、最好的新酒和五穀，就是以色列人獻給耶和華的初熟之物，我都賜給你。

耶和華的使者伸出手裏的杖，杖頭一碰到肉和無酵餅，就有火從磐石中出來，吞滅了肉和無酵餅。耶和華的使者就從他眼前消失了。

有火從耶和華那裏出來，吞滅了那上香的二百五十人。

而是憑着基督的寶血，如同無瑕疵、無玷污的羔羊的血。基督是神在創世以前所預知，而在這末世才為你們顯現的。

祭司要把這些燒在壇上，作為馨香火祭的食物；所有的脂肪都是耶和華的。在你們一切的住處，脂肪和血都不可吃，這要成為你們世世代代永遠的定例。」

你們求告你們神明的名，我也求告耶和華的名。那應允禱告降火的就是神。」眾百姓回答說：「好主意。」
