Then she told him this story:“ That Hebrew slave you brought us came to me to make sport of me.

This is what she said to him:“ That Hebrew slave you brought to us tried to humiliate me,

「不可散佈謠言；不可與惡人連手作惡意的見證。

惡人刀已出鞘，弓已上弦，要砍倒困苦貧窮的人，要殺害行為正直的人。

都因仇敵的聲音，惡人的欺壓；他們將罪孽加在我身上，發怒氣加害我。

就叫了家裏的人來，對他們說：「看，他帶了一個希伯來人到我們這裏戲弄我們。他到我這裏來，要與我同寢，我就大聲喊叫。

她在信上寫着說：「你們當宣告禁食，叫拿伯坐在百姓的高位上，又叫兩個無賴坐在拿伯對面，作證告他說：『你詛咒了上帝和王。』然後把他拉出去用石頭打死。」那些與拿伯同城居住的長老和貴族，照耶洗別送給他們的信去做。正如她送的信上所寫，他們宣告禁食，叫拿伯坐在百姓的高位上。有兩個無賴來，坐在拿伯對面。無賴當着百姓作證告他說：「拿伯詛咒上帝和王了！」眾人就把他拉到城外，用石頭打他，他就死了。

「不可做假見證陷害你的鄰舍。

耶和華啊，求你救我脫離說謊的嘴唇和詭詐的舌頭！詭詐的舌頭啊，他會給你甚麼呢？會加給你甚麼呢？就是勇士的利箭、羅騰木的炭火。

誠實的嘴唇永遠堅立；說謊的舌頭只存片時。

大祭司就撕裂衣服，說：「他說了褻瀆的話，我們何必再要證人呢？現在你們已經聽見他這褻瀆的話了。

作假見證的，難免受罰；口吐謊言的，必定滅亡。
