This was the offering of Ahira the son of Enan.This was the dedication offering for the altar from the leaders of Israel when it was anointed: twelve silver dishes, twelve silver bowls, and twelve gold pans,each silver dish weighing 130 shekels and each bowl seventy; all the silver of the utensils totaled 2,400 in sanctuary shekels;the twelve gold pans full of incense, weighing ten shekels apiece in sanctuary shekels, all the gold of the pans totaled 120 shekels.All the oxen for the burnt offering totaled twelve bulls, all the rams, twelve, the male lambs one year old with their grain offering, twelve, and the male goats as a sin offering, twelve;and all the oxen for the sacrifice of peace offerings totaled twenty four bulls, all the rams, sixty, the male goats, sixty, and the male lambs one year old, sixty. This was the dedication offering for the altar after it was anointed.Now when Moses entered the tent of meeting to speak with Him, he heard the voice speaking to him from above the atoning cover that was on the ark of the testimony, from between the two cherubim; so He spoke to him.

Now in charge of the tribes of Israel: chief officer for the Reubenites was Eliezer the son of Zichri; for the Simeonites, Shephatiah the son of Maacah;for Levi, Hashabiah the son of Kemuel; for Aaron, Zadok;for Judah, Elihu, one of David’s brothers; for Issachar, Omri the son of Michael;for Zebulun, Ishmaiah the son of Obadiah; for Naphtali, Jeremoth the son of Azriel;for the sons of Ephraim, Hoshea the son of Azaziah; for the half tribe of Manasseh, Joel the son of Pedaiah;for the half tribe of Manasseh in Gilead, Iddo the son of Zechariah; for Benjamin, Jaasiel the son of Abner;for Dan, Azarel the son of Jeroham. These were the leaders of the tribes of Israel.

With his hands he contended for them, And may You be a help against his adversaries.”Of Levi he said,“ Let Your Thummim and Your Urim belong to Your godly man, Whom You tested at Massah, With whom You contended at the waters of Meribah;Who said of his father and his mother,‘ I did not consider them’; And he did not acknowledge his brothers, Nor did he regard his own sons, For they kept Your word, And complied with Your covenant.They will teach Your ordinances to Jacob, And Your Law to Israel. They shall put incense before You, And whole burnt offerings on Your altar.Lord, bless his strength, And accept the work of his hands; Smash the hips of those who rise up against him, And those who hate him, so that they do not rise again.”Of Benjamin he said,“ May the beloved of the Lord live in security beside Him Who shields him all the day long, And he lives between His shoulders.”Of Joseph he said,“ Blessed of the Lord be his land, With the choice things of heaven, with the dew, And from the deep waters lying beneath,And with the choice yield of the sun, And the choice produce of the months;And with the best things of the ancient mountains, With the choice things of the everlasting hills,And with the choice things of the earth and its fullness, And the favor of Him who dwelt in the bush. And those are the ten thousands of Ephraim, And those are the thousands of Manasseh.”Of Zebulun he said,“ Rejoice, Zebulun, in your going out, And, Issachar, in your tents.They will call peoples to the mountain; There they will offer righteous sacrifices; For they will draw out the abundance of the seas, And the hidden treasures of the sand.”Of Gad he said,“ Blessed is the one who enlarges Gad; He lies down as a lion, And tears the arm, also the crown of the head.Then he selected the choicest part for himself, For there the ruler’s portion was reserved; And he came with the leaders of the people; He executed the justice of the Lord, And His ordinances with Israel.”Of Dan he said,“ Dan is a lion’s cub; He leaps out from Bashan.”Of Naphtali he said,“ Naphtali, satisfied with favor, And full of the blessing of the Lord, Take possession of the sea and the south.”Of Asher he said,“ More blessed than sons is Asher; May he be favored by his brothers, And may he dip his foot in olive oil.Your bars will be iron and bronze, And as your days, so will your strength be.“ There is no one like the God of Jeshurun, Who rides the heavens to your help, And the clouds in His majesty.The eternal God is a hiding place, And underneath are the everlasting arms; And He drove out the enemy from you, And said,‘ Destroy!’So Israel lives in security, The fountain of Jacob secluded, In a land of grain and new wine; His heavens also drip down dew.Blessed are you, Israel; Who is like you, a people saved by the Lord, The shield of your help, And He who is the sword of your majesty! So your enemies will cringe before you, And you will trample on their high places.”

“ Now these are the names of the tribes: from the northern extremity, beside the way of Hethlon to Lebo hamath, as far as Hazar enan at the border of Damascus, toward the north beside Hamath, running from east to west, Dan, one portion.Beside the border of Dan, from the east side to the west side, Asher, one portion.Beside the border of Asher, from the east side to the west side, Naphtali, one portion.Beside the border of Naphtali, from the east side to the west side, Manasseh, one portion.Beside the border of Manasseh, from the east side to the west side, Ephraim, one portion.Beside the border of Ephraim, from the east side to the west side, Reuben, one portion.Beside the border of Reuben, from the east side to the west side, Judah, one portion.“ And beside the border of Judah, from the east side to the west side, shall be the allotment which you shall set apart, twenty five thousand cubits in width, and in length like one of the portions, from the east side to the west side; and the sanctuary shall be in the middle of it.The allotment that you shall set apart to the Lord shall be twenty five thousand cubits in length and ten thousand in width.The holy allotment shall be for these, namely for the priests, toward the north twenty five thousand cubits in length, toward the west ten thousand in width, toward the east ten thousand in width, and toward the south twenty five thousand in length; and the sanctuary of the Lord shall be in its midst.It shall be for the priests who are sanctified of the sons of Zadok, who have taken the responsibility I gave them, who did not go astray when the sons of Israel went astray as the Levites went astray.It shall be an allotment to them from the allotment of the land, a most holy reserve, by the border of the Levites.And alongside the border of the priests, the Levites shall have twenty five thousand cubits in length and ten thousand in width. The entire length shall be twenty five thousand cubits and the width ten thousand.Moreover, they shall not sell or exchange any of it, or allow this choice portion of land to pass to others; for it is holy to the Lord.“ The remainder, five thousand cubits in width and twenty five thousand in length, shall be for common use for the city, for homes and for open spaces; and the city shall be in its midst.And these shall be its measurements: the north side, 4,500 cubits, the south side 4,500 cubits, the east side 4,500 cubits, and the west side, 4,500 cubits.The city shall have open spaces: on the north 250 cubits, on the south 250 cubits, on the east 250 cubits, and on the west 250 cubits.The remainder of the length alongside the holy allotment shall be ten thousand cubits toward the east and ten thousand toward the west; and it shall be alongside the holy allotment. And its produce shall be food for the workers of the city.And the workers of the city, out of all the tribes of Israel, shall cultivate it.The whole allotment shall be twenty five thousand by twenty five thousand cubits; you shall set apart the holy allotment, a square, with the property of the city.“ The remainder shall be for the prince, on the one side and on the other of the holy allotment and of the property of the city; in front of the twenty five thousand cubits of the allotment toward the east border and westward in front of the twenty five thousand toward the west border, alongside the portions, it shall be for the prince. And the holy allotment and the sanctuary of the house shall be in the middle of it.And exclusive of the property of the Levites and the property of the city, which are in the middle of that which belongs to the prince, everything between the border of Judah and the border of Benjamin shall belong to the prince.“ As for the rest of the tribes: from the east side to the west side, Benjamin, one portion.Beside the border of Benjamin, from the east side to the west side, Simeon, one portion.Beside the border of Simeon, from the east side to the west side, Issachar, one portion.Beside the border of Issachar, from the east side to the west side, Zebulun, one portion.Beside the border of Zebulun, from the east side to the west side, Gad, one portion.And beside the border of Gad, at the south side toward the south, the border shall be from Tamar to the waters of Meribath kadesh, to the brook of Egypt, to the Great Sea.This is the land which you shall divide by lot to the tribes of Israel for an inheritance, and these are their several portions,” declares the Lord God.“ Now these are the exits of the city: on the north side, 4,500 cubits by measurement,shall be the gates of the city, named for the tribes of Israel, three gates toward the north: the gate of Reuben, one; the gate of Judah, one; and the gate of Levi, one.On the east side, 4,500 cubits, shall be three gates: the gate of Joseph, one; the gate of Benjamin, one; and the gate of Dan, one.On the south side, 4,500 cubits by measurement, shall be three gates: the gate of Simeon, one; the gate of Issachar, one; and the gate of Zebulun, one.On the west side, 4,500 cubits, shall be three gates: the gate of Gad, one; the gate of Asher, one; and the gate of Naphtali, one.The city shall be eighteen thousand cubits all around; and the name of the city from that day shall be,‘ The Lord is there.’ ”

Reuben, Israel’s firstborn, the sons of Reuben: of Hanoch, the family of the Hanochites; of Pallu, the family of the Palluites;of Hezron, the family of the Hezronites; of Carmi, the family of the Carmites.These are the families of the Reubenites, and those who were counted of them were 43,730.The son of Pallu: Eliab.The sons of Eliab: Nemuel, Dathan, and Abiram. And I heard the number of those who were sealed: 144,000, sealed from every tribe of the sons of Israel:from the tribe of Judah, twelve thousand were sealed, from the tribe of Reuben twelve thousand, from the tribe of Gad twelve thousand,from the tribe of Asher twelve thousand, from the tribe of Naphtali twelve thousand, from the tribe of Manasseh twelve thousand,from the tribe of Simeon twelve thousand, from the tribe of Levi twelve thousand, from the tribe of Issachar twelve thousand,from the tribe of Zebulun twelve thousand, from the tribe of Joseph twelve thousand, and from the tribe of Benjamin, twelve thousand were sealed.

Now these are the names of the sons of Israel who came to Egypt with Jacob; they came, each one with his household:Reuben, Simeon, Levi, and Judah;Issachar, Zebulun, and Benjamin;Dan and Naphtali, Gad and Asher.All the people who descended from Jacob were seventy people, but Joseph was already in Egypt.

And the wall of the city had twelve foundation stones, and on them were the twelve names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.

Now Joshua was old and advanced in years when the Lord said to him,“ You are old and advanced in years, and a very large amount of the land remains to be possessed.This is the land that remains: all the regions of the Philistines and all those of the Geshurites;from the Shihor which is east of Egypt, even as far as the border of Ekron to the north( it is counted as Canaanite); the five governors of the Philistines: the Gazite, the Ashdodite, the Ashkelonite, the Gittite, the Ekronite; and the Avviteto the south, all the land of the Canaanite, and Mearah that belongs to the Sidonians, as far as Aphek, to the border of the Amorite;and the land of the Gebalite, and all of Lebanon, toward the east, from Baal gad below Mount Hermon as far as Lebo hamath.All the inhabitants of the hill country from Lebanon as far as Misrephoth maim, all the Sidonians, I will drive out from the sons of Israel; only allot it to Israel as an inheritance as I have commanded you.Now therefore, apportion this land as an inheritance to the nine tribes and the half tribe of Manasseh.”With the other half tribe, the Reubenites and the Gadites received their inheritance which Moses gave them beyond the Jordan to the east, just as Moses the servant of the Lord gave to them;from Aroer, which is on the edge of the Valley of the Arnon, with the city which is in the middle of the valley, and all the plain of Medeba, as far as Dibon;and all the cities of Sihon king of the Amorites, who reigned in Heshbon, as far as the border of the sons of Ammon;and Gilead, and the territory of the Geshurites and Maacathites, and all Mount Hermon, and all Bashan as far as Salecah;all the kingdom of Og in Bashan, who reigned in Ashtaroth and in Edrei( he alone was left of the remnant of the Rephaim); for Moses struck them and drove them out.But the sons of Israel did not drive out the Geshurites or the Maacathites; instead, Geshur and Maacath live among Israel to this day.Only to the tribe of Levi he did not give an inheritance; the offerings by fire to the Lord, the God of Israel, are their inheritance, as He spoke to him.So Moses gave an inheritance to the tribe of the sons of Reuben according to their families.Their territory was from Aroer, which is on the edge of the Valley of the Arnon, with the city which is in the middle of the valley and all the plain by Medeba;Heshbon and all its cities which are on the plain: Dibon, Bamoth baal, Beth baal meon,Jahaz, Kedemoth, Mephaath,Kiriathaim, Sibmah, Zereth shahar on the hill of the valley,Beth peor, the slopes of Pisgah, Beth jeshimoth,even all the cities of the plain, and all the kingdom of Sihon king of the Amorites, who reigned in Heshbon, whom Moses struck with the leaders of Midian, Evi, Rekem, Zur, Hur, and Reba, the leaders of Sihon, who lived in the land.

Now these are the numbers of the divisions equipped for war, who came to David at Hebron, to turn the kingdom of Saul to him, according to the word of the Lord.The sons of Judah who carried shield and spear numbered 6,800, equipped for war.From the sons of Simeon, valiant mighty men of war, 7,100.From the sons of Levi, 4,600.Now Jehoiada was the leader of the house of Aaron, and with him were 3,700,also Zadok, a young valiant mighty man, and from his father’s house, twenty two captains.From the sons of Benjamin, Saul’s kinsmen, three thousand; for until now the majority of them had kept their allegiance to the house of Saul.From the sons of Ephraim 20,800, valiant mighty men, famous men in their fathers’ households.From the half tribe of Manasseh eighteen thousand, who were designated by name to come and make David king.From the sons of Issachar, men who understood the times, with knowledge of what Israel should do, their chiefs were two hundred; and all their kinsmen were at their command.From Zebulun, there were fifty thousand who went out in the army, who could draw up in battle formation with all kinds of weapons of war and helped David with an undivided heart.From Naphtali there were a thousand captains, and with them thirty seven thousand with shield and spear.From the Danites who could draw up in battle formation, there were 28,600.From Asher there were forty thousand who went out in the army to draw up in battle formation.From the other side of the Jordan, from the Reubenites, the Gadites, and the half tribe of Manasseh, there were 120,000 with all kinds of weapons of war for the battle.All of these, being men of war who helped in battle formation, came to Hebron with a perfect heart to make David king over all Israel; and all the rest of Israel also were of one mind to make David king.They were there with David for three days, eating and drinking, for their kinsmen had prepared for them.Moreover, those who were near to them, as far as Issachar, Zebulun, and Naphtali, brought food on donkeys, camels, mules, and on oxen, great quantities of flour cakes, fig cakes and bunches of raisins, wine, oil, oxen, and sheep. There was joy indeed in Israel.

These were the sons of Israel: Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Zebulun,Dan, Joseph, Benjamin, Naphtali, Gad, and Asher.

These are those who were numbered of the Levites according to their families: of Gershon, the family of the Gershonites; of Kohath, the family of the Kohathites; of Merari, the family of the Merarites.These are the families of Levi: the family of the Libnites, the family of the Hebronites, the family of the Mahlites, the family of the Mushites, and the family of the Korahites. Kohath fathered Amram.And the name of Amram’s wife was Jochebed, the daughter of Levi, who was born to Levi in Egypt; and she bore to Amram Aaron and Moses, and their sister Miriam.And to Aaron were born Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar.But Nadab and Abihu died when they offered strange fire before the Lord.Those who were numbered of them were twenty three thousand, every male from a month old and upward, for they were not numbered among the sons of Israel since no inheritance was given to them among the sons of Israel.

For the tribe of the sons of Reuben have received theirs according to their fathers’ households, and the tribe of the sons of Gad according to their fathers’ households, and the half tribe of Manasseh have received their possession.The two and a half tribes have received their possession across the Jordan opposite Jericho, eastward toward the sunrise.”Then the Lord spoke to Moses, saying,“ These are the names of the men who shall assign the land to you as an inheritance: Eleazar the priest, and Joshua the son of Nun.And you shall take one leader of each tribe to assign the land as an inheritance.These are the names of the men: of the tribe of Judah, Caleb the son of Jephunneh.Of the tribe of the sons of Simeon, Samuel the son of Ammihud.Of the tribe of Benjamin, Elidad the son of Chislon.And of the tribe of the sons of Dan, a leader, Bukki the son of Jogli.Of the sons of Joseph: of the tribe of the sons of Manasseh, a leader, Hanniel the son of Ephod.Of the tribe of the sons of Ephraim, a leader, Kemuel the son of Shiphtan.Of the tribe of the sons of Zebulun, a leader, Elizaphan the son of Parnach.Of the tribe of the sons of Issachar, a leader, Paltiel the son of Azzan.Of the tribe of the sons of Asher, a leader, Ahihud the son of Shelomi.Of the tribe of the sons of Naphtali, a leader, Pedahel the son of Ammihud.”

Bilhah conceived and bore Jacob a son.Then Rachel said,“ God has vindicated me, and has indeed heard my voice and has given me a son.” Therefore she named him Dan.And Rachel’s slave Bilhah conceived again and bore Jacob a second son.So Rachel said,“ With mighty wrestling I have wrestled with my sister, and I have indeed prevailed.” And she named him Naphtali.When Leah saw that she had stopped having children, she took her slave Zilpah and gave her to Jacob as a wife.And Leah’s slave Zilpah bore Jacob a son.Then Leah said,“ How fortunate!” So she named him Gad.And Leah’s slave Zilpah bore Jacob a second son.Then Leah said,“ Happy am I! Now the Lord saw that Leah was unloved, and He opened her womb, but Rachel was unable to have children.Leah conceived and gave birth to a son, and named him Reuben, for she said,“ Because the Lord has seen my affliction; surely now my husband will love me.”Then she conceived again and gave birth to a son, and said,“ Because the Lord has heard that I am unloved, He has therefore given me this son also.” So she named him Simeon.And she conceived again and gave birth to a son, and said,“ Now this time my husband will become attached to me, because I have borne him three sons.” Therefore he was named Levi.And she conceived again and gave birth to a son, and said,“ This time I will praise the Lord.” Therefore she named him Judah. Now the sons of Reuben, Israel’s firstborn, their descendants by their families, by their fathers’ households, according to the number of names, head by head, every male from twenty years old and upward, whoever was able to go to war,their numbered men of the tribe of Reuben were 46,500.Of the sons of Simeon, their descendants by their families, by their fathers’ households, their numbered men, according to the number of names, head by head, every male from twenty years old and upward, whoever was able to go to war,their numbered men of the tribe of Simeon were 59,300.Of the sons of Gad, their descendants by their families, by their fathers’ households, according to the number of names, from twenty years old and upward, whoever was able to go to war,their numbered men of the tribe of Gad were 45,650.Of the sons of Judah, their descendants by their families, by their fathers’ households, according to the number of names, from twenty years old and upward, whoever was able to go to war,their numbered men of the tribe of Judah were 74,600.Of the sons of Issachar, their descendants by their families, by their fathers’ households, according to the number of names, from twenty years old and upward, whoever was able to go to war,their numbered men of the tribe of Issachar were 54,400.Of the sons of Zebulun, their descendants by their families, by their fathers’ households, according to the number of names, from twenty years old and upward, whoever was able to go to war,their numbered men of the tribe of Zebulun were 57,400.Of the sons of Joseph, namely, of the sons of Ephraim, their descendants by their families, by their fathers’ households, according to the number of names, from twenty years old and upward, whoever was able to go to war,their numbered men of the tribe of Ephraim were 40,500.Of the sons of Manasseh, their descendants by their families, by their fathers’ households, according to the number of names, from twenty years old and upward, whoever was able to go to war,their numbered men of the tribe of Manasseh were 32,200.Of the sons of Benjamin, their descendants by their families, by their fathers’ households, according to the number of names, from twenty years old and upward, whoever was able to go to war,their numbered men of the tribe of Benjamin were 35,400.Of the sons of Dan, their descendants by their families, by their fathers’ households, according to the number of names, from twenty years old and upward, whoever was able to go to war,their numbered men of the tribe of Dan were 62,700.Of the sons of Asher, their descendants by their families, by their fathers’ households, according to the number of names, from twenty years old and upward, whoever was able to go to war,their numbered men of the tribe of Asher were 41,500.Of the sons of Naphtali, their descendants by their families, by their fathers’ households, according to the number of names, from twenty years old and upward, whoever was able to go to war,their numbered men of the tribe of Naphtali were 53,400.These are the ones who were numbered, whom Moses and Aaron counted, with the leaders of Israel, twelve men, each of whom was of his father’s household.So all the numbered men of the sons of Israel by their fathers’ households, from twenty years old and upward, whoever was able to go to war in Israel,all the numbered men were 603,550.
