Jacob said to his relatives,“ Gather stones.” They took stones, and made a heap. They ate there by the heap.

又对众弟兄说：“你们堆聚石头。”他们就拿石头来堆成一堆，大家便在旁边吃喝。

He said to his relatives,“ Gather some stones.” So they took stones and piled them in a heap, and they ate there by the heap.

Then he told his family members,“ Gather some stones.” So they gathered stones and piled them in a heap. Then Jacob and Laban sat down beside the pile of stones to eat a covenant meal.

Joshua set up those twelve stones, which they took out of the Jordan, in Gilgal.He spoke to the children of Israel, saying,“ When your children ask their fathers in time to come, saying,‘ What do these stones mean?’Then you shall let your children know, saying,‘ Israel came over this Jordan on dry land.For Yahweh your God dried up the waters of the Jordan from before you until you had crossed over, as Yahweh your God did to the Red Sea, which he dried up from before us, until we had crossed over,that all the peoples of the earth may know that Yahweh’s hand is mighty, and that you may fear Yahweh your God forever.’”

When it crossed over the Jordan, the waters of the Jordan were cut off. These stones shall be for a memorial to the children of Israel forever.’”The children of Israel did as Joshua commanded, and took up twelve stones out of the middle of the Jordan, as Yahweh spoke to Joshua, according to the number of the tribes of the children of Israel. They carried them over with them to the place where they camped, and laid them down there.Joshua set up twelve stones in the middle of the Jordan, in the place where the feet of the priests who bore the ark of the covenant stood; and they are there to this day.

They took Absalom and cast him into a great pit in the forest, and raised over him a very great heap of stones. Then all Israel fled, each to his own tent.

He took his relatives with him, and pursued him seven days’ journey. He overtook him in the mountain of Gilead.

They raised over him a great heap of stones that remains to this day. Yahweh turned from the fierceness of his anger. Therefore the name of that place was called“ The valley of Achor” to this day.

Jacob offered a sacrifice in the mountain, and called his relatives to eat bread. They ate bread, and stayed all night in the mountain.
