曷為竊遁、而不告我、俾我鼓琴、播鼗謳歌、忻然以送、

Why did you run off secretly and deceive me? Why didn’t you tell me, so I could send you away with joy and singing to the music of timbrels and harps?

Why did you run away in secret and trick me? Why didn’t you tell me? Then I could have sent you away happily. We could have sung to the music of tambourines and harps.

Why did you flee secretly and trick me, and did not tell me, so that I might have sent you away with mirth and songs, with tambourine and lyre?

Why did you slip away secretly? Why did you deceive me? And why didn’t you say you wanted to leave? I would have given you a farewell feast, with singing and music, accompanied by tambourines and harps.

And Miriam the prophetess, the sister of Aaron, took a timbrel in her hand; and all the women went out after her with timbrels and with dances.

And they sent away Rebekah their sister, and her nurse, and Abraham’s servant, and his men.And they blessed Rebekah, and said unto her, Thou[ art] our sister, be thou[ the mother] of thousands of millions, and let thy seed possess the gate of those which hate them.

They send forth their little ones like a flock, and their children dance.They take the timbrel and harp, and rejoice at the sound of the organ.They spend their days in wealth, and in a moment go down to the grave.Therefore they say unto God, Depart from us; for we desire not the knowledge of thy ways.

And his brother’s name[ was] Jubal: he was the father of all such as handle the harp and organ.
