亚伦的姊姊女先知米利暗，手里拿着鼓；所有的妇女都跟着她出来，击鼓跳舞。

雅各回答拉班，说：“我逃走，是因为我害怕，我心里想：恐怕你会把你的女儿们从我的手中抢走。

嘴唇火热，心却奸恶，就像包上银渣的瓦器。憎恶人的用话语掩饰自己，心里却存着诡诈。他的话语虽然动听，你不可信他，因为他心里有七样可厌恶的事。他的怨恨虽然以诡诈掩饰，但他的邪恶必在大会中显露出来。

雅各瞒着亚兰人拉班﹙“瞒着亚兰人拉班”直译是“偷了亚兰人拉班的心”﹚，没有告诉拉班他将要逃走。于是，雅各带着他所有的一切逃走了。他起程渡过了大河，面对着基列山走去。

基甸就从他的仆人中选出了十个人，照着耶和华告诉他的行了；但因为害怕他的父家和城里的人，就不敢在日间行事，只好在晚上作了。

那时，耶和华对雅各说：“你要回到你列祖之地，到你的亲族那里去，我必与你同在。”雅各就派人把拉结和利亚叫到田间的羊群那里去，对她们说：“我注意到你们父亲的脸色，对我不像从前那样了；但是我父亲的神与我同在。

于是，他们把自己的妹妹利百加，她的乳母和亚伯拉罕的仆人，以及同来的人，都打发走了。他们给利百加祝福，对她说：“我们的妹妹啊，愿你作千万人之母；愿你的后裔，占领仇敌的城门。”

他们叫小孩子出去多如羊群，他们的年轻人四处跳跃；他们跟着琴鼓高歌，又因着箫的声音欢乐。他们幸福度过他们的日子，一剎那间下阴间，毫无病痛。然而他们对神说：‘离开我们吧，我们不愿意晓得你的道路。

雅八的兄弟名叫犹八；犹八是所有弹琴吹箫的人的鼻祖。
