Leah said,“ How fortunate!” So she named him Gad.

莉亚就说：“幸运来临！”于是给孩子起名为迦得。

利亞說：「萬幸！」於是給他起名叫迦得。

利亞給他起名叫迦得，說：「真是幸運！」

利亞給他起名叫迦得，說：「真是幸運！」

利亞說：「真幸運！」她便給孩子取名叫迦得。

利亞就說：『好萬幸啊！』於是給孩子起名叫迦得。

莉亞就說：「幸運來臨！」於是給孩子起名為迦得。

利亞謂為吉慶、故名之曰迦得、

利亞命名伽得、曰、幸甚。

利亞曰、福至矣、故名之曰迦得、迦得譯即福之義

Then Leah said,“ What good fortune!” So she named him Gad.

And Leah said,“ Good fortune has come!” so she called his name Gad.

Leah named him Gad, for she said,“ How fortunate I am!”

Then Leah said,“ What good fortune!” and she named him Gad.

Then Leah said,“ A troop comes!” So she called his name Gad.

And Leah said, Fortunate! and she called his name Gad.

Then Leah said,“ What good fortune!” and she named him Gad.

And Leah said, A troop cometh: and she called his name Gad.

Leah said,“ How fortunate!” She named him Gad.

Gad will be raided by marauding bands, but he will attack them at their heels.

The sons of Zilpah, Leah’s servant, were Gad and Asher. These were the sons of Jacob who were born to him in Paddan Aram.

But as for you who abandon the LORD and forget about worshiping at my holy mountain, who prepare a feast for the god called‘ Fortune,’ and fill up wine jugs for the god called‘ Destiny’–

The sons of Gad: Zephon, Haggi, Shuni, Ezbon, Eri, Arodi, and Areli.

Of Gad he said: Blessed be the one who enlarges Gad. Like a lioness he will dwell; he will tear at an arm– indeed, a scalp.He has selected the best part for himself, for the portion of the ruler is set aside there; he came with the leaders of the people, he obeyed the righteous laws of the LORD and his ordinances with Israel.
