亚伯拉罕清早起来，拿饼和一皮袋水，给了夏甲，搭在她肩上，把她和孩子一起送走。夏甲就走了，但她却在别是巴的旷野流浪。

每当以色列人撒种之后，米甸、亚玛力和东边的人都上来攻打他们，

你们中间作父亲的，谁有儿子求鱼，反拿蛇当鱼给他呢？求鸡蛋，反给他蝎子呢？你们虽然不好，尚且知道拿好东西给儿女，何况天父，他岂不更要把圣灵赐给求他的人吗？”

当以色列中没有王的时候，有一个利未人寄居以法莲山区的边界，他娶了一个犹大伯利恒的女子为妾。这妾对丈夫生气，离开丈夫，回到犹大伯利恒的父家，在那里住了四个月。

这岳父，就是女子的父亲，留他住了三天。他们在那里吃喝，住宿。

拉结就把她的婢女辟拉给丈夫为妾，雅各与她同房。

他的家产有七千只羊，三千匹骆驼，五百对牛，五百匹母驴，并有许多仆婢。这人在东方人中为至大。

他夜间起来，带着两个妻子，两个婢女和十一个孩子，过了雅博渡口。

这样，你们就可以作天父的儿女了。因为他叫太阳照好人，也照坏人；降雨给义人，也给不义的人。

然而他未尝不为自己留下证据来，就如常行善事，从天降雨，赏赐丰年，使你们饮食饱足，满心喜乐。”

耶和华啊，求你用手救我脱离世人，脱离那只在今生有福分的世人！你以财宝充满他们的肚腹，他们因有儿女就满足，将其余的财物留给他们的孩子。至于我，我必因公正得见你的面；我醒了的时候，你的形像使我满足。

于是亚伯兰的妻子撒莱把她的婢女，埃及人夏甲，给了丈夫为妾；那时亚伯兰在迦南已经住了十年。

亚伯拉罕再娶了一个妻子，名叫基土拉。

以色列住在那地的时候，吕便去与他父亲的妾辟拉同寝，以色列也听见了这件事。雅各共有十二个儿子。

乌斯地有一个人名叫约伯。这人完全、正直、敬畏上帝、远离恶事。

利亚见自己停了生育，就把她的婢女悉帕给雅各为妾。
