Abraham agreed to Ephron’s offer. He weighed out for Ephron the price he had named. The Hittites there had heard the amount. The price was ten pounds of silver. Abraham measured it by the weights that were used by merchants.

Abraham listened to Ephron, and Abraham weighed out for Ephron the silver that he had named in the hearing of the Hittites, four hundred shekels of silver, according to the weights current among the merchants.

So Abraham agreed to Ephron’s price and paid the amount he had suggested— 400 pieces of silver, weighed according to the market standard. The Hittite elders witnessed the transaction.

Abraham agreed with Ephron, and Abraham weighed out to Ephron the silver that he had agreed to in the hearing of the Hethites: four hundred standard shekels of silver.

So Abraham agreed to Ephron’s price and weighed out for him the price that Ephron had quoted in the hearing of the sons of Heth– 400 pieces of silver, according to the standard measurement at the time.

Abraham listened to Ephron. Abraham weighed to Ephron the silver which he had named in the hearing of the children of Heth, four hundred shekels of silver, according to the current merchants’ standard.

I told them,“ If you think it best, give me my pay; but if not, keep it.” So they paid me thirty pieces of silver.

so I bought the field at Anathoth from my cousin Hanamel and weighed out for him seventeen shekels of silver.

Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for whoever loves others has fulfilled the law.

and I weighed out to them the offering of silver and gold and the articles that the king, his advisers, his officials and all Israel present there had donated for the house of our God.I weighed out to them 650 talents of silver, silver articles weighing 100 talents, 100 talents of gold,20 bowls of gold valued at 1,000 darics, and two fine articles of polished bronze, as precious as gold.I said to them,“ You as well as these articles are consecrated to the Lord. The silver and gold are a freewill offering to the Lord, the God of your ancestors.Guard them carefully until you weigh them out in the chambers of the house of the Lord in Jerusalem before the leading priests and the Levites and the family heads of Israel.”Then the priests and Levites received the silver and gold and sacred articles that had been weighed out to be taken to the house of our God in Jerusalem.

So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.

The shekel is to consist of twenty gerahs. Twenty shekels plus twenty-five shekels plus fifteen shekels equal one mina.

Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable— if anything is excellent or praiseworthy— think about such things.

It cannot be bought with the finest gold, nor can its price be weighed out in silver.

Each one who crosses over to those already counted is to give a half shekel, according to the sanctuary shekel, which weighs twenty gerahs. This half shekel is an offering to the Lord.

But at the place where we stopped for the night we opened our sacks and each of us found his silver— the exact weight— in the mouth of his sack. So we have brought it back with us.

“ Listen to me, my lord; the land is worth four hundred shekels of silver, but what is that between you and me? Bury your dead.”

and that in this matter no one should wrong or take advantage of a brother or sister. The Lord will punish all those who commit such sins, as we told you and warned you before.
