Now Abimelech had not approached her, so he said,“ Lord, would you destroy a nation even though it is innocent?

亚比米勒却还没有亲近撒拉；他说：“主啊，连有义的国，你也要毁灭吗？

那时亚比米勒还没有与撒拉亲近，于是他说：“主啊，连公义之民，你也要杀吗？

那時亞比米勒還沒有與撒拉親近，於是他說：「主啊，連公義之民，你也要殺嗎？

亞比米勒未近婦身、曰、主歟、為義之民、亦滅之乎、

亞庇米力未玷婦身、故曰、為義之民、主豈滅之乎。

亞比米勒未近婦、故曰、無辜之民、主欲滅之乎、

Now Abimelek had not gone near her, so he said,“ Lord, will you destroy an innocent nation?

But Abimelek hadn’t gone near her. So he said,“ Lord, will you destroy a nation that hasn’t done anything wrong?

Now Abimelech had not approached her. So he said,“ Lord, will you kill an innocent people?

But Abimelech had not slept with her yet, so he said,“ Lord, will you destroy an innocent nation?

Now Abimelech had not come near her; and he said,“ Lord, will You kill a nation, even though blameless?

But Abimelech had not come near her; and he said,“ Lord, will You slay a righteous nation also?

Now Abimelech had not come near her: and he said, Lord, wilt thou slay even a righteous nation?

Now Abimelech had not approached her, so he said,“ Lord, would You destroy a nation even though it is innocent?

But Abimelech had not come near her: and he said, Lord, wilt thou slay also a righteous nation?

Now Abimelech had not gone near her. He said,“ Lord, would you really slaughter an innocent nation?

Now Abimelech had not come near her. He said,“ Lord, will you kill even a righteous nation?

David said to God,“ Wasn’t I the one who gave the order to count the people? I am the one who has sinned and acted very wickedly. But these sheep, what have they done? LORD my God, please let your hand be against me and against my father’s family, but don’t let the plague be against your people.”

Abraham stepped forward and said,“ Will you really sweep away the righteous with the wicked?What if there are fifty righteous people in the city? Will you really sweep it away instead of sparing the place for the sake of the fifty righteous people who are in it?You could not possibly do such a thing: to kill the righteous with the wicked, treating the righteous and the wicked alike. You could not possibly do that! Won’t the Judge of the whole earth do what is just?”

Then Abraham prayed to God, and God healed Abimelech, his wife, and his female slaves so that they could bear children,for the LORD had completely closed all the wombs in Abimelech’s household on account of Sarah, Abraham’s wife.

How much more when wicked men kill a righteous man in his own house on his own bed! So now, should I not require his blood from you and purge you from the earth?”

Then God said to him in the dream,“ Yes, I know that you did this with a clear conscience. I have also kept you from sinning against me. Therefore I have not let you touch her.

Then out of the sky the LORD rained on Sodom and Gomorrah burning sulfur from the LORD.
