So the Lord told Abraham,“ I have heard a great outcry from Sodom and Gomorrah, because their sin is so flagrant.

That is the way it will be at the end of the world. The angels will come and separate the wicked people from the righteous,throwing the wicked into the fiery furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

And don’t forget Sodom and Gomorrah and their neighboring towns, which were filled with immorality and every kind of sexual perversion. Those cities were destroyed by fire and serve as a warning of the eternal fire of God’s judgment.

But the wicked are doomed, for they will get exactly what they deserve.

The Lord examines both the righteous and the wicked. He hates those who love violence.He will rain down blazing coals and burning sulfur on the wicked, punishing them with scorching winds.

Then I heard the Lord say to the other men,“ Follow him through the city and kill everyone whose forehead is not marked. Show no mercy; have no pity!Kill them all— old and young, girls and women and little children. But do not touch anyone with the mark. Begin right here at the Temple.” So they began by killing the seventy leaders.

That night the angel of the Lord went out to the Assyrian camp and killed 185,000 Assyrian soldiers. When the surviving Assyrians woke up the next morning, they found corpses everywhere.

Instantly, an angel of the Lord struck Herod with a sickness, because he accepted the people’s worship instead of giving the glory to God. So he was consumed with worms and died.

What’s more, do you think we have invaded your land without the Lord’s direction? The Lord himself told us,‘ Attack this land and destroy it!’”

And some people even slander us by claiming that we say,“ The more we sin, the better it is!” Those who say such things deserve to be condemned.Well then, should we conclude that we Jews are better than others? No, not at all, for we have already shown that all people, whether Jews or Gentiles, are under the power of sin.

The Son of Man will send his angels, and they will remove from his Kingdom everything that causes sin and all who do evil.And the angels will throw them into the fiery furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

And God sent an angel to destroy Jerusalem. But just as the angel was preparing to destroy it, the Lord relented and said to the death angel,“ Stop! And everything in the sea died.Then the third angel poured out his bowl on the rivers and springs, and they became blood.And I heard the angel who had authority over all water saying,“ You are just, O Holy One, who is and who always was, because you have sent these judgments.Since they shed the blood of your holy people and your prophets, you have given them blood to drink. It is their just reward.”And I heard a voice from the altar, saying,“ Yes, O Lord God, the Almighty, your judgments are true and just.”Then the fourth angel poured out his bowl on the sun, causing it to scorch everyone with its fire.Everyone was burned by this blast of heat, and they cursed the name of God, who had control over all these plagues. They did not repent of their sins and turn to God and give him glory.Then the fifth angel poured out his bowl on the throne of the beast, and his kingdom was plunged into darkness. His subjects ground their teeth in anguish,and they cursed the God of heaven for their pains and sores. But they did not repent of their evil deeds and turn to God.Then the sixth angel poured out his bowl on the great Euphrates River, and it dried up so that the kings from the east could march their armies toward the west without hindrance.

For listen! Hear the cries of the field workers whom you have cheated of their pay. The cries of those who harvest your fields have reached the ears of the Lord of Heaven’s Armies.

But the people of this area were extremely wicked and constantly sinned against the Lord.
