Abram believed the Lord, and he credited it to him as righteousness.

乃應經所云、亞伯拉罕信上帝、義遂歸之、且稱為上帝友、

是福也、及於受割者乎、抑亦及於未受割者乎、蓋我所謂亞伯拉罕之信即以之為義也、

如亞伯拉罕信上帝、遂以義歸之、爾宜知之、凡由乎信者、乃亞伯拉罕之裔也、且經預知上帝將由信而義異邦、遂預宣福音於亞伯拉罕云、諸邦將由爾受福、是由乎信者、得與有信之亞伯拉罕同受福矣、凡由行律者服詛、記有之、不恆於律之所載而悉行者見詛、無人於上帝前、因律見義也、明矣、蓋義者將由信而生、夫律非本乎信、惟行之者於斯而生也、基督已贖我儕脫律之詛、以其為我儕服詛、記有之、凡懸於木者見詛也、致亞伯拉罕之福在基督耶穌者、臨及異邦、俾我儕由信而得所許之聖神、○

且於上帝所許、不以不信而貳其心、惟信彌篤、歸榮上帝、深信上帝所許者、必能成之、故因其信以之為義、夫經所載以之為義者、不第為彼、亦為我儕、即信使我主耶穌自死而起者、亦將以之為義也、夫耶穌為我罪愆而被付、且為我見義而復起焉、

經何云乎、亞伯拉罕信上帝、上帝遂以其信為義也、夫行者得賞、非為恩、乃其所宜、不行者、第信其稱不虔之人為義、其信即以之為義矣、又如大衛謂上帝於行之外而義之者為有福、

此為其義、歷世靡暨兮、

亞伯拉罕有信、蒙召承順、往於將受為業之地、既出、不知所往、

且亞伯拉罕受割之號、即其未受割、因信為義之印證、使為凡未割而信者之父、致彼稱義、

即上帝於基督中令世人與己復和、不以其咎歸之、而以斯道付我焉、○
