The LORD said to Abram: Go from your land, your relatives, and your father’s house to the land that I will show you.

The Lord had said to Abram,“ Go from your country, your people and your father’s household to the land I will show you.

Now the Lord said to Abram,“ Go from your country and your kindred and your father’s house to the land that I will show you.

The Lord had said to Abram,“ Leave your native country, your relatives, and your father’s family, and go to the land that I will show you.

Now the Lord said to Abram,“ Go from your country, And from your relatives And from your father’s house, To the land which I will show you;

Now the Lord had said to Abram:“ Get out of your country, From your family And from your father’s house, To a land that I will show you.

Now Jehovah said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto the land that I will show thee:

Now Yahweh said to Abram,“ Leave your country, and your relatives, and your father’s house, and go to the land that I will show you.

By faith Abraham, when he was called, obeyed and set out for a place that he was going to receive as an inheritance. He went out, even though he did not know where he was going.

“ Brothers and fathers,” he replied,“ listen: The God of glory appeared to our father Abraham when he was in Mesopotamia, before he settled in Haran,and said to him: Leave your country and relatives, and come to the land that I will show you.“ Then he left the land of the Chaldeans and settled in Haran. From there, after his father died, God had him move to this land in which you are now living.He didn’t give him an inheritance in it— not even a foot of ground— but he promised to give it to him as a possession, and to his descendants after him, even though he was childless.God spoke in this way: His descendants would be strangers in a foreign country, and they would enslave and oppress them for four hundred years.

Joshua said to all the people,“ This is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says:‘ Long ago your ancestors, including Terah, the father of Abraham and Nahor, lived beyond the Euphrates River and worshiped other gods.But I took your father Abraham from the region beyond the Euphrates River, led him throughout the land of Canaan, and multiplied his descendants. I gave him Isaac,

Look to Abraham your father, and to Sarah who gave birth to you. When I called him, he was only one; I blessed him and made him many.

You, the LORD, are the God who chose Abram and brought him out of Ur of the Chaldeans, and changed his name to Abraham.

“ If anyone comes to me and does not hate his own father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters— yes, and even his own life— he cannot be my disciple.Whoever does not bear his own cross and come after me cannot be my disciple.“ For which of you, wanting to build a tower, doesn’t first sit down and calculate the cost to see if he has enough to complete it?Otherwise, after he has laid the foundation and cannot finish it, all the onlookers will begin to ridicule him,saying,‘ This man started to build and wasn’t able to finish.’“ Or what king, going to war against another king, will not first sit down and decide if he is able with ten thousand to oppose the one who comes against him with twenty thousand?If not, while the other is still far off, he sends a delegation and asks for terms of peace.In the same way, therefore, every one of you who does not renounce all his possessions cannot be my disciple.

Terah took his son Abram, his grandson Lot( Haran’s son), and his daughter-in-law Sarai, his son Abram’s wife, and they set out together from Ur of the Chaldeans to go to the land of Canaan. But when they came to Haran, they settled there.Terah lived 205 years and died in Haran.

“ Son of man, those who live in the ruins in the land of Israel are saying,‘ Abraham was only one person, yet he received possession of the land. But we are many; surely the land has been given to us as a possession.’

He also said to him,“ I am the LORD who brought you from Ur of the Chaldeans to give you this land to possess.”

I brought you from the ends of the earth and called you from its farthest corners. I said to you: You are my servant; I have chosen you; I haven’t rejected you.

Then I heard another voice from heaven: Come out of her, my people, so that you will not share in her sins or receive any of her plagues.

Therefore, come out from among them and be separate, says the Lord; do not touch any unclean thing, and I will welcome you.

Listen, daughter, pay attention and consider: Forget your people and your father’s house,and the king will desire your beauty. Bow down to him, for he is your lord.
