God blessed them and said to them,“ Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.”

神就賜福給牠們，說：“要繁衍增多，充滿海洋；雀鳥也要在地上增多！”

如果不是耶和華建造房屋，建造的人就徒然勞苦；如果不是耶和華看守城池，看守的人就徒然警醒。（本節在《馬索拉文本》包括細字標題）你們清早起來，很晚才歇息，吃勞碌得來的飯，都是徒然；因為主必使他所愛的安睡。兒女是耶和華所賜的產業，腹中的胎兒是他的賞賜。年輕時所生的兒女，好像勇士手中的箭。箭袋裝滿了箭的人是有福的，他們在城門口和仇敵說話的時候，必不至於羞愧。

所有和你在一起有生命的活物：飛鳥、牲畜和一切在地上爬行的動物，你都要帶出來，使牠們可以在地上滋生、繁殖，也可以在地上增多。”

你的妻子在你的內室，好像多結果子的葡萄樹；你的兒女環繞著你的桌子，好像橄欖樹的枝條。看哪！敬畏耶和華的人必這樣蒙福。

我必定賜福給你，必使你的後裔繁多，像天上的星，海邊的沙；你的後裔必佔領仇敵的城門。地上萬國都要因你的後裔得福，因為你聽從了我的話。’”

雅比斯呼求以色列的神說：“深願你大大地賜福給我，擴張我的境界，你的能力常與我同在，保護我免遭災禍，不受痛苦。”神就應允了他所求的。

他又賜福給他們，使他們人口眾多，也沒有使他們的牲畜減少。

我必賜福給她，也必使她為你生一個兒子；我要賜福給她，她也要作多國的母，萬族的君王必從她而出。”

至於以實瑪利，我也應允你。看哪，我已經賜福給他；我必使他昌盛，子孫極其眾多；他必生十二個族長；我也必使他成為大國。

六子是亞米利、七子是以薩迦、八子是毘烏利太；神實在賜福給俄別．以東。

那天晚上，耶和華向他顯現，說：“我是你父親亞伯拉罕的神；你不要怕，因為我與你同在；我必為了我僕人亞伯拉罕的緣故，賜福給你，使你的後裔增多。”

是你父親的神幫助你，是那全能者賜給你；他把從天上來的福，地下深淵蘊藏著的福，哺乳和生育的福，都賜給你。

以掃舉目觀看，看見婦人和孩子，就問：“這些與你同來的人是誰？”雅各回答：“是神賜給你僕人的孩子。”

你要寄居在這地，我必與你同在，必賜福給你，因為我要把這全地都賜給你和你的後裔，履行我向你父親亞伯拉罕所起的誓。我必使你的後裔增多，好像天上的星那樣多；我必把這全地都賜給你的後裔；地上的萬國都必因你的後裔得福。

他們給利百加祝福，對她說：“我們的妹妹啊，願你作千萬人之母；願你的後裔，佔領仇敵的城門。”

願天和地都讚美他，願海洋和海中一切生物都讚美他。

這樣，耶和華後來賜給約伯的福比先前更多：他有一萬四千隻羊、六千匹駱駝、一千對牛、一千頭母驢。

他們禁止嫁娶，禁戒食物。食物本是神所造的，是給信主和認識真理的人存感謝的心領受的。
