Again I declare to every man who lets himself be circumcised that he is obligated to obey the whole law.

I’ll say it again. If you are trying to find favor with God by being circumcised, you must obey every regulation in the whole law of Moses.

And I testify again to every man who becomes circumcised that he is a debtor to keep the whole law.

For all who rely on the works of the law are under a curse, as it is written:“ Cursed is everyone who does not continue to do everything written in the Book of the Law.” (niv)

Circumcision has value if you observe the law, but if you break the law, you have become as though you had not been circumcised. (niv)

For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it.For he who said,“ You shall not commit adultery,” also said,“ You shall not murder.” If you do not commit adultery but do commit murder, you have become a lawbreaker. (niv)

If you ever forget the Lord your God and follow other gods and worship and bow down to them, I testify against you today that you will surely be destroyed. (niv)

So I tell you this, and insist on it in the Lord, that you must no longer live as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their thinking. (niv)

And when many disasters and calamities come on them, this song will testify against them, because it will not be forgotten by their descendants. I know what they are disposed to do, even before I bring them into the land I promised them on oath.” (niv)

You also say,‘ If anyone swears by the altar, it means nothing; but anyone who swears by the gift on the altar is bound by that oath.’ (niv)

Our kings, our leaders, our priests and our ancestors did not follow your law; they did not pay attention to your commands or the statutes you warned them to keep. (niv)

“ You warned them in order to turn them back to your law, but they became arrogant and disobeyed your commands. They sinned against your ordinances, of which you said,‘ The person who obeys them will live by them.’ Stubbornly they turned their backs on you, became stiff- necked and refused to listen.For many years you were patient with them. By your Spirit you warned them through your prophets. Yet they paid no attention, so you gave them into the hands of the neighboring peoples. (niv)

for I have five brothers. Let him warn them, so that they will not also come to this place of torment.’ (niv)
