因為聖經上說：「不生育、未生養的婦人啊，要快樂；未曾生產的女子啊，要高聲歡呼，因為沒有丈夫的比有丈夫的兒女更多。」

因为经上记着：“不怀孕、不生养的，你要欢乐；未曾经过产难的，你要高声欢呼；因为没有丈夫的，比有丈夫的儿女更多。”

因为经上记着说：“不能生育、没有生养的啊，你要欢欣！没有受过生产痛苦的啊，你要呼喊，大声呼叫！因为弃妇比有夫之妇有更多儿子。”

因为经上记着：“不能生育、没有生产的女子啊，你要欢喜！没有经历临产阵痛的女子啊，你要放声呼喊！因为没有丈夫的女子，比有丈夫的女子有更多的儿女。”

因為經上記着：不懷孕、不生養的，你要歡樂；未曾經過產難的，你要高聲歡呼；因為沒有丈夫的，比有丈夫的兒女更多。

因為經上記着說：『你這不能生育、沒有生產過的啊，你歡樂哦！你這沒受過產難的啊，你突破靜寂而呼喊哦？因為淒涼獨居的婦人、比有丈夫的、兒女還多。』

因為經上記著：「不能生育、沒有生產的女子啊，你要歡喜！沒有經歷臨產陣痛的女子啊，你要放聲呼喊！因為沒有丈夫的女子，比有丈夫的女子有更多的兒女。」

記有之、不妊不產者宜喜樂、未劬勞者宜歡呼、蓋煢獨者較有夫者、子更多也、

經云、不妊不生之婦、最可樂、未劬勞之女、歡聲而呼、蓋棄婦較有夫之婦、生子多矣、

蓋經載云、爾不孕不生者、當喜樂、爾未劬勞者、當歡聲而呼、蓋被棄之婦、較有夫之婦、生子更多、

經有之：『不妊不育之婦乎、爾可揚眉而吐氣矣。未經劬勞之女乎、爾可引吭而歡呼矣。無夫者之兒女、將多於有夫之婦者矣。』

For it is written:“ Be glad, barren woman, you who never bore a child; shout for joy and cry aloud, you who were never in labor; because more are the children of the desolate woman than of her who has a husband.”

It is written,“ Be glad, woman, you who have never had children. Shout for joy and cry out loud, you who have never had labor pains. The woman who is all alone has more children than the woman who has a husband.”( Isaiah 54:1)

For it is written,“ Rejoice, O barren one who does not bear; break forth and cry aloud, you who are not in labor! For the children of the desolate one will be more than those of the one who has a husband.”

As Isaiah said,“ Rejoice, O childless woman, you who have never given birth! Break into a joyful shout, you who have never been in labor! For the desolate woman now has more children than the woman who lives with her husband!”

For it is written, Rejoice, childless woman, unable to give birth. Burst into song and shout, you who are not in labor, for the children of the desolate woman will be many, more numerous than those of the woman who has a husband.

For it is written:“ Rejoice, infertile one, you who do not give birth; Break forth and shout, you who are not in labor; For the children of the desolate one are more numerous Than those of the one who has a husband.”

For it is written:“ Rejoice, O barren, You who do not bear! Break forth and shout, You who are not in labor! For the desolate has many more children Than she who has a husband.”

For it is written, Rejoice, thou barren that bearest not; Break forth and cry, thou that travailest not: For more are the children of the desolate than of her that hath the husband.

For it is written: Rejoice, childless woman, who does not give birth. Burst into song and shout, you who are not in labor, for the children of the desolate are many, more numerous than those of the woman who has a husband.

耶和華說：「不生育、未生養的婦人啊，要歡唱；未曾生產的女子啊，要高歌、歡呼；因為沒有丈夫的比有丈夫的兒女更多。要擴大你的帳篷，儘量拉寬帳篷的幔子，放長繩子，釘牢橛子。因為你要向左右擴展，你的後裔要統治列國，使荒涼的城邑重新有人居住。「不要懼怕，因為你不會再受羞辱；不要怕，因為你不會再受凌辱。你必忘記年輕時的羞辱，不再想起寡居時的恥辱。因為造你的是你的丈夫，祂名叫萬軍之耶和華；救贖你的是以色列的聖者，祂是普天下的上帝。

祂賜給不育的婦人兒女，使她們成為快樂的母親。你們要讚美耶和華！

婦女們對拿俄米說：「耶和華當受稱頌！因為今日祂賜給你一位至親，使你後繼有人，願這孩子在以色列得享盛名！他必讓你的生命重新得力，奉養你，使你安度晚年，因為他是愛你的兒媳婦所生的。有這兒媳婦比有七個兒子還要好！」拿俄米接過嬰孩抱在懷中，照顧他。

素來豐衣足食的為糊口而當雇工，本來食不果腹的卻不再挨餓。不育的婦人現在生了七個孩子，兒女成群的婦人卻子女盡失。

她的哥哥押沙龍問她：「是不是你哥哥暗嫩污辱了你？妹妹，不要聲張，他是你哥哥，不要把這件事放在心上。」於是她瑪就憂憂鬱鬱地住在押沙龍家裡。

拿俄米說：「我的女兒啊，回娘家去吧！為什麼要跟我去呢？難道我還能生兒子做你們的丈夫嗎？回去吧！我的女兒啊，走吧！我已經老了，不可能再嫁人了。就算我還有指望，今晚能再結婚生子，難道你們能一直不嫁，等到他們長大嗎？不要這樣，我的女兒啊！這樣你們會很苦，我就更苦了，因為耶和華伸手懲罰我。」

真正有需要、無依無靠的寡婦仰賴上帝的幫助，晝夜不住地禱告祈求。

你會在心裡問，『我喪失了兒女、不再生育、流亡在外、漂流不定，誰給我生了這些兒女？誰把他們養大？我孤身一人，他們是從哪裡來的？』」
