Scripture foresaw that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, and announced the gospel in advance to Abraham:“ All nations will be blessed through you.”

Long ago, Scripture knew that God would make the Gentiles right with himself. He would do this by their faith in him. He announced the good news ahead of time to Abraham. God said,“ All nations will be blessed because of you.”( Genesis 12:3; 18:18; 22:18)

And the Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel beforehand to Abraham, saying,“ In you shall all the nations be blessed.”

What’s more, the Scriptures looked forward to this time when God would make the Gentiles right in his sight because of their faith. God proclaimed this good news to Abraham long ago when he said,“ All nations will be blessed through you.”

蓋福音傳於我儕、如傳於彼眾然、但所聞之道、於彼眾無益、因聞之者、不以信而融洽、

諸先知之言、與此符合、如經所載云、此後我將返而復建大衛傾覆之室、其頹圮者、復建而立之、使其餘民及凡奉我名之異邦人、皆尋求主、是乃成此事之主所言者也、凡天主所為、天主自始皆已知之、

秉權者永不離猶大、立法者必由之而生、迨賜平安者至、萬民必歸之、

但按經、萬人皆在罪中、使所許之福、由信耶穌基督、可賜於諸信者、

我將自雅各中攜數苗裔出、自猶大中攜數人出、可得我聖山為業、我之選民必得其地為業、我之僕必居之焉、

我必蕃衍爾後裔、如天星之眾多、以此列邦、賜爾後裔、天下萬國、必因爾後裔蒙福、

經載主語法老曰、我立爾、特為以爾顯示我能、使我名傳揚於天下、

亞伯拉罕必成為大族、天下萬國、必藉之得福、

天主應許亞伯拉罕及其裔、不云爾之眾裔、而指多人、乃云爾裔、而指一人、即基督也、

爾之後裔、將多如地之塵沙、向東西南北蔓延、天下萬族、因爾與爾後裔得福、

信我者、其腹必流活水之川、如經所載、

爾自幼識聖經、聖經能使爾有智慧、由信基督而得救、聖經皆由天主默示所作、有益於教誨督責、使人歸正、教人學義、使事天主之人、得以純全練達、能行諸善事、

是則何言、異邦人不尋義而得義、即由信之義、

蓋大衛曾指之曰、我觀主常在我前、主在我右、我不至震動、故我心喜、我口樂、我口樂或作我口誦我身在墓而有望、

然經何云、曰、逐婢及其子、蓋婢之子、不得與自主之婦之子、共嗣業焉、

彼在位時、善人必興盛、人享太平、如月之恆、

其中所遺、雖僅十分之一、亦歸滅絕、然猶存聖裔、為斯地之根本、如栗樹橡樹、雖經斬伐、根本尚存、或作譬彼栗樹橡樹斬伐枝條尚留根株聖種猶存為斯地之根本亦復若是

待我使爾敵、為爾足凳、

經非云、基督為大衛之裔、出自伯利恆、大衛所居之鄉乎、

又載云、人將觀其所刺者、○
