何爾竟如此之無知耶、始則受聖神、今乃以儀文終乎、

其以聖神始、而以形跡終乎？豈爾之冥頑不靈、一至於此乎？

Are you so foolish? After beginning by means of the Spirit, are you now trying to finish by means of the flesh?

Are you so foolish? You began by the Holy Spirit. Are you now trying to finish God’s work in you by your own strength?

How foolish can you be? After starting your new lives in the Spirit, why are you now trying to become perfect by your own human effort?

你們這要靠律法稱義的，是與基督隔絕，從恩典中墜落了。我們靠着聖靈，憑着信心，等候所盼望的義。原來在基督耶穌裏，受割禮不受割禮全無功效，惟獨使人生發仁愛的信心才有功效。你們向來跑得好，有誰攔阻你們，叫你們不順從真理呢？這樣的勸導不是出於那召你們的。

那頭一層帳幕作現今的一個表樣，所獻的禮物和祭物，就着良心說，都不能叫禮拜的人得以完全。這些事，連那飲食和諸般洗濯的規矩，都不過是屬肉體的條例，命定到振興的時候為止。

凡希圖外貌體面的人都勉強你們受割禮，無非是怕自己為基督的十字架受逼迫。他們那些受割禮的，連自己也不守律法；他們願意你們受割禮，不過要藉着你們的肉體誇口。但我斷不以別的誇口，只誇我們主耶穌基督的十字架；因這十字架，就我而論，世界已經釘在十字架上；就世界而論，我已經釘在十字架上。

可見，從此以後，你不是奴僕，乃是兒子了；既是兒子，就靠着神為後嗣。但從前你們不認識神的時候，是給那些本來不是神的作奴僕；現在你們既然認識神，更可說是被神所認識的，怎麼還要歸回那懦弱無用的小學，情願再給他作奴僕呢？你們謹守日子、月份、節期、年份，

他成為祭司，並不是照屬肉體的條例，乃是照無窮之生命的大能。因為有給他作見證的說：「你是照着麥基洗德的等次永遠為祭司。」先前的條例，因軟弱無益，所以廢掉了，（律法原來一無所成）就引進了更美的指望；靠這指望，我們便可以進到神面前。

因為有預備的帳幕，頭一層叫作聖所，裏面有燈臺、桌子，和陳設餅。
