凡以行律法为本的，都是被咒诅的；因为经上记着：“凡不常照律法书上所记一切之事去行的，就被咒诅。”

凡出于律法的行为都是受诅咒的，因为经上记着：“凡不持守律法书上所记的一切而去行的，都是受诅咒的。”

For all who rely on the works of the law are under a curse, as it is written:“ Cursed is everyone who does not continue to do everything written in the Book of the Law.”

All who depend on obeying the law are under a curse. It is written,“ May everyone who doesn’t continue to do everything written in the Book of the Law be under God’s curse.”( Deuteronomy 27:26)

For all who rely on works of the law are under a curse; for it is written,“ Cursed be everyone who does not abide by all things written in the Book of the Law, and do them.”

But those who depend on the law to make them right with God are under his curse, for the Scriptures say,“ Cursed is everyone who does not observe and obey all the commands that are written in God’s Book of the Law.”

無他、蓋順於欲者、則逆於天主；如此自不甘服天主之法、且亦不能。

夫法之所言、所以昭示法內之人、亦所以塞夫人之口、而使舉世皆服罪於天主之前也。蓋徒恃遵行律法、無人能稱義於天主之前；惟因法而知罪耳。

若一味偏心、妄分厚薄、是即犯罪、不容於法。守全法而犯一誡者、亦為犯法。蓋誡爾毋犯姦淫者、天主也；而誡爾毋殺人者、亦天主也。爾即未犯姦淫、而犯殺人、是亦犯法而已矣。

蓋罪孽之果報為死、而天主之恩賜、則因耶穌基督而獲永生是已。

雖然、吾人既知人之成義、非憑律法、惟憑篤信基督、故毅然惟基督是信、亦欲緣篤信基督、不恃律法、而成義耳。無他、血氣之倫、未有僅憑遵行律法、而成義者也。

夫法者、刑戮之器也；法之不存、何犯之有。

王又將謂左者曰：「被詛者流、其離我！當投諸不熄之烈火、蓋此原為魔鬼及其眾徒而備也。

我生之初尚無法、誡命一至、罪於是乎生、而我於是乎死矣。夫誡命所以躋我於生也、結果反以致我於死者、何也？蓋罪乘隙而入、利用誡命、以陷我於惑、而成我之戮。是故法非不美、誡非不聖也；固善且美矣。豈善且美者、適足以促予之死耶？無是理也！致死之因、惟罪而已。正惟其能使善且美者、轉成致死之具、此罪之所以為罪也。在誡命之明鑒中、罪之醜態畢露矣。

有人自矜其義、目無他人、耶穌設喻以警之曰：『曩有二人、偕登聖殿祈禱；一為法利塞人、一為稅吏。法利塞昂立默念、曰：「謝主俾我異若眾！眾或貪污、或犯義、或奸淫、謝主俾我異斯稅吏！我每週守齋二次、所得什一以獻。」稅吏遙立、弗敢仰視、惟拊膺曰：「求主憐我罪人！」
