“ We who are Jews by birth and not sinful Gentiles

我们这生来的犹太人，不是外邦的罪人；

我们生来就是犹太人，不是外邦罪人；

我们生来是犹太人，不是“外邦中的罪人”，

我們生來就是猶太人，不是外邦罪人；

我們生來是猶太人，不是外族罪人，

我們生來是猶太人，不是外族中的罪人；

我們這生來是猶太人、而不是屬於外國之「罪人」的，

我們生來是猶太人，不是「外邦中的罪人」，

夫我儕本猶太人、非異邦罪人、

我儕本猶太人、非異邦罪人、

我儕本猶太人、非異邦罪人、

吾人為猶太人、而非外邦之罪人、固矣；

We are Jews by birth. We are not sinful Gentiles.

We ourselves are Jews by birth and not Gentile sinners;

“ You and I are Jews by birth, not‘ sinners’ like the Gentiles.

We are Jews by birth and not“ Gentile sinners,”

“ We are Jews by nature and not sinners from the Gentiles;

We who are Jews by nature, and not sinners of the Gentiles,

We being Jews by nature, and not sinners of the Gentiles,

We who are Jews by birth and not“ Gentile sinners”

We[ who are] Jews by nature, and not sinners of the Gentiles,

We are Jews by birth and not Gentile sinners,

“ We, being Jews by nature, and not Gentile sinners,

At one time we too were foolish, disobedient, deceived and enslaved by all kinds of passions and pleasures. We lived in malice and envy, being hated and hating one another.

All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our flesh and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature deserving of wrath.

Therefore, remember that formerly you who are Gentiles by birth and called“ uncircumcised” by those who call themselves“ the circumcision”( which is done in the body by human hands)—remember that at that time you were separate from Christ, excluded from citizenship in Israel and foreigners to the covenants of the promise, without hope and without God in the world.

What shall we conclude then? Do we have any advantage? Not at all! For we have already made the charge that Jews and Gentiles alike are all under the power of sin.

But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming to where he was baptizing, he said to them:“ You brood of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the coming wrath?Produce fruit in keeping with repentance.And do not think you can say to yourselves,‘ We have Abraham as our father.’ I tell you that out of these stones God can raise up children for Abraham.

though I myself have reasons for such confidence. If someone else thinks they have reasons to put confidence in the flesh, I have more:

“ Then the Lord said to me,‘ Go; I will send you far away to the Gentiles.’”

“ Abraham is our father,” they answered.“ If you were Abraham’s children,” said Jesus,“ then you would do what Abraham did.As it is, you are looking for a way to kill me, a man who has told you the truth that I heard from God. Abraham did not do such things.You are doing the works of your own father.”“ We are not illegitimate children,” they protested.“ The only Father we have is God himself.”

The woman was a Greek, born in Syrian Phoenicia. She begged Jesus to drive the demon out of her daughter.“ First let the children eat all they want,” he told her,“ for it is not right to take the children’s bread and toss it to the dogs.”“ Lord,” she replied,“ even the dogs under the table eat the children’s crumbs.”

When the Pharisees saw this, they asked his disciples,“ Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?”

And he sent you on a mission, saying,‘ Go and completely destroy those wicked people, the Amalekites; wage war against them until you have wiped them out.’

Therefore, the promise comes by faith, so that it may be by grace and may be guaranteed to all Abraham’s offspring— not only to those who are of the law but also to those who have the faith of Abraham. He is the father of us all.
