For before certain men came from James, he used to eat with the Gentiles. But when they arrived, he began to draw back and separate himself from the Gentiles because he was afraid of those who belonged to the circumcision group.

於是、爾曹不復為外邦異家、乃與聖徒一邦、與上帝之人一家、以使徒先知為基、以耶穌基督為屋隅要石、而建其上、四宇搆合、築為主之聖殿、在此殿、爾曹賴聖神共建、為上帝所居焉、

畏威而不敢赴義、必陷乎罪、畏耶和華者必得護衛。

有類於惡者去之、

惟有守法之儀文、故我儕相敵、基督身死而廢之、使二為一、而相和如新造之人、

明日、保羅與我儕入見雅各諸長老亦至、保羅問安一一述上帝遣己、在異邦中所行之事、眾聞此、則讚主、謂保羅曰、兄弟見猶太信者數萬、皆銳志守法、彼聞爾於異邦中、教諸猶太人、背摩西言、不從其例、生子不需割禮、眾聞爾至、必集、將若何、孰若從我言、偕我者有誓願四人、爾與此人同潔、代為捐費、俾得薙髮、如此、則眾知前所聞者、皆謬、爾固守法而行之者也、至於信主之異邦人、我儕曾遺書酌定、不必守此、惟戒淫、及祭偶之物、勒死之牲若血而已、

猶告人曰、遠避勿前、我潔過爾、予怒斯人、若煙上騰、若燄恆熾。

爾敬恪者誰、反悖逆予、不以予為意、予不罪爾、爾益無忌憚、
