這奧祕就是外邦人在基督耶穌裏，藉着福音，得以同為後嗣，同為一體，同蒙應許。

彼得在外面院子裏坐着，有一個使女前來，說：「你素來也是同那加利利人耶穌一夥的。」彼得在眾人面前卻不承認，說：「我不知道你說的是甚麼！」既出去，到了門口，又有一個使女看見他，就對那裏的人說：「這個人也是同拿撒勒人耶穌一夥的。」彼得又不承認，並且起誓說：「我不認得那個人。」過了不多的時候，旁邊站着的人前來，對彼得說：「你真是他們一黨的，你的口音把你露出來了。」彼得就發咒起誓地說：「我不認得那個人。」立時，雞就叫了。彼得想起耶穌所說的話：「雞叫以先，你要三次不認我。」他就出去痛哭。

這樣，你們不再作外人和客旅，是與聖徒同國，是神家裏的人了；並且被建造在使徒和先知的根基上，有基督耶穌自己為房角石，各房靠他聯絡得合式，漸漸成為主的聖殿。你們也靠他同被建造，成為神藉着聖靈居住的所在。

懼怕人的，陷入網羅；惟有倚靠耶和華的，必得安穩。

各樣的惡事要禁戒不做。

而且以自己的身體廢掉冤仇，就是那記在律法上的規條，為要將兩下藉着自己造成一個新人，如此便成就了和睦。

第二天，保羅同我們去見雅各；長老們也都在那裏。保羅問了他們安，便將神用他傳教，在外邦人中間所行之事，一一地述說了。他們聽見，就歸榮耀與神，對保羅說：「兄台，你看猶太人中信主的有多少萬，並且都為律法熱心。他們聽見人說，你教訓一切在外邦的猶太人離棄摩西，對他們說，不要給孩子行割禮，也不要遵行條規。眾人必聽見你來了，這可怎麼辦呢？你就照着我們的話行吧！我們這裏有四個人，都有願在身。你帶他們去，與他們一同行潔淨的禮，替他們拿出規費，叫他們得以剃頭。這樣，眾人就可知道，先前所聽見你的事都是虛的；並可知道，你自己為人，循規蹈矩，遵行律法。至於信主的外邦人，我們已經寫信擬定，叫他們謹忌那祭偶像之物，和血，並勒死的牲畜，與姦淫。」

且對人說：你站開吧！不要挨近我，因為我比你聖潔。主說：這些人是我鼻中的煙，是整天燒着的火。

你怕誰？因誰恐懼？竟說謊，不記念我，又不將這事放在心上。我不是許久閉口不言，你仍不怕我嗎？
