这奥秘就是外邦人在基督耶稣里，藉着福音，得以同为后嗣，同为一体，同蒙应许。

彼得在外面院子里坐着，有一个使女前来，说：“你素来也是同那加利利人耶稣一伙的。”彼得在众人面前却不承认，说：“我不知道你说的是什么！”既出去，到了门口，又有一个使女看见他，就对那里的人说：“这个人也是同拿撒勒人耶稣一伙的。”彼得又不承认，并且起誓说：“我不认得那个人。”过了不多的时候，旁边站着的人前来，对彼得说：“你真是他们一党的，你的口音把你露出来了。”彼得就发咒起誓地说：“我不认得那个人。”立时，鸡就叫了。彼得想起耶稣所说的话：“鸡叫以先，你要三次不认我。”他就出去痛哭。

这样，你们不再作外人和客旅，是与圣徒同国，是神家里的人了；并且被建造在使徒和先知的根基上，有基督耶稣自己为房角石，各房靠他联络得合式，渐渐成为主的圣殿。你们也靠他同被建造，成为神藉着圣灵居住的所在。

惧怕人的，陷入网罗；惟有倚靠耶和华的，必得安稳。

各样的恶事要禁戒不做。

而且以自己的身体废掉冤仇，就是那记在律法上的规条，为要将两下藉着自己造成一个新人，如此便成就了和睦。

第二天，保罗同我们去见雅各；长老们也都在那里。保罗问了他们安，便将神用他传教，在外邦人中间所行之事，一一地述说了。他们听见，就归荣耀与神，对保罗说：“兄台，你看犹太人中信主的有多少万，并且都为律法热心。他们听见人说，你教训一切在外邦的犹太人离弃摩西，对他们说，不要给孩子行割礼，也不要遵行条规。众人必听见你来了，这可怎么办呢？你就照着我们的话行吧！我们这里有四个人，都有愿在身。你带他们去，与他们一同行洁净的礼，替他们拿出规费，叫他们得以剃头。这样，众人就可知道，先前所听见你的事都是虚的；并可知道，你自己为人，循规蹈矩，遵行律法。至于信主的外邦人，我们已经写信拟定，叫他们谨忌那祭偶像之物，和血，并勒死的牲畜，与奸淫。”

且对人说：‘你站开吧！不要挨近我，因为我比你圣洁。’主说：‘这些人是我鼻中的烟，是整天烧着的火。’

你怕谁？因谁恐惧？竟说谎，不记念我，又不将这事放在心上。我不是许久闭口不言，你仍不怕我吗？
