On the twelfth day of the first month we set out from the Ahava Canal to go to Jerusalem. The hand of our God was on us, and he protected us from enemies and bandits along the way.

On the 12th day of the first month we started out. We left the canal that flows toward Ahava. And we headed for Jerusalem. Our God helped us. He kept us safe from enemies and robbers along the way.

Then we departed from the river Ahava on the twelfth day of the first month, to go to Jerusalem. The hand of our God was on us, and he delivered us from the hand of the enemy and from ambushes by the way.

We broke camp at the Ahava Canal on April 19 and started off to Jerusalem. And the gracious hand of our God protected us and saved us from enemies and bandits along the way.

We set out from the Ahava River on the twelfth day of the first month to go to Jerusalem. We were strengthened by our God, and he kept us from the grasp of the enemy and from ambush along the way.

Then we journeyed from the river Ahava on the twelfth of the first month to go to Jerusalem; and the hand of our God was upon us, and He rescued us from the hand of the enemy and the ambushes by the road.

Then we departed from the river of Ahava on the twelfth day of the first month, to go to Jerusalem. And the hand of our God was upon us, and He delivered us from the hand of the enemy and from ambush along the road.

“那時，我在亞哈瓦河邊那裡宣告禁食，為要在我們的神面前謙卑下來，為自己和我們的孩子，以及我們所有的財物尋求神指示一條暢通的道路。我羞於請求王派遣步兵和馬兵幫助我們抵禦路上的仇敵，因為我們曾告訴王說：‘我們神的手必幫助所有尋求他的人，賜福給他們，但他的能力和忿怒必攻擊所有離棄他的人。’

正月初一，以斯拉開始從巴比倫上來；五月初一來到耶路撒冷，他神施恩的手幫助他，

“我召集他們到那條流往亞哈瓦的河邊；我們在那裡安營住了三天。當我視察民眾和祭司的時候，發現沒有利未人在那裡。

不要懼怕，因為我與你同在；不要四處張望，因為我是你的神，我必堅固你，我必幫助你；我必用公義的右手扶持你。看哪！向你發怒的都必蒙羞受辱；與你相爭的人，都要如同無有，並要滅亡。與你爭競的人，你要尋找他們，卻找不著；與你交戰的人，都必如同無有，好像虛無。因為我，耶和華你們的神，緊握著你的右手，對你說：“不要懼怕，我必幫助你。”蟲子雅各啊！以色列人哪！你不要懼怕。我必幫助你；這是耶和華說的。你的救贖主，就是以色列的聖者。

然而，我得到神的幫助，直到今日還是站得穩，向尊卑老幼作見證，我所講的都是眾先知和摩西所論的將來必成的事，

你六次遭遇患難，他都救拔你，就算第七次，災禍也傷不了你。在饑荒中，他必救你脫離死亡；在戰爭中，他必救你脫離刀劍的權勢。你必不受人口舌之害，災殃臨到，也不害怕。對災殃和饑饉，一笑置之，地上的野獸你也不害怕。你必與田間的石頭立約，田間的野獸必與你和平相處。你必曉得你的帳棚平安無事；你查看莊舍，也一無缺失。

你既然把耶和華當作自己的避難所，把至高者當作自己的居所，禍患必不臨到你，災害必不臨近你的帳棚。因為他為了你，會吩咐自己的使者，在你所行的一切路上保護你。他們必用手托住你，免得你的腳碰到石頭。你必踐踏獅子和虺蛇。你必踏碎少壯獅子和大蛇。耶和華說：“因為他戀慕我，我必搭救他；因為他認識我的名，我必保護他。

求他恩准對付保羅，把保羅解來耶路撒冷，他們好埋伏在路上殺死他。

又使我在王和謀士，以及王手下有權勢的領袖面前蒙恩。因為耶和華我神的手幫助我，我就有勇氣，召集以色列中一些首領，與我一同上來。”
