我打發他們在迦西斐雅地方見首領易多；又將他們在迦西斐雅地方向易多和他弟族兄當殿役的該說甚麼話、親口教給他們，叫他們要為我們的上帝的殿打發使用的人到我們這裏來。

命之往迦西斐雅、見其處族長易多、又傳之所當告易多、及其兄弟、並居迦西斐雅地殿役之言、即勸其遣人來、在我天主之殿供役事、

and I ordered them to go to Iddo, the leader in Kasiphia. I told them what to say to Iddo and his fellow Levites, the temple servants in Kasiphia, so that they might bring attendants to us for the house of our God.

I ordered all those men to go to Iddo. He was the leader in Kasiphia. He and his Levite relatives were temple servants there. I told my men what to say to them. I wanted Iddo and his Levite relatives to bring some attendants to us for the house of our God.

and sent them to Iddo, the leading man at the place Casiphia, telling them what to say to Iddo and his brothers and the temple servants at the place Casiphia, namely, to send us ministers for the house of our God.

I sent them to Iddo, the leader of the Levites at Casiphia, to ask him and his relatives and the Temple servants to send us ministers for the Temple of God at Jerusalem.

And I gave them a command for Iddo the chief man at the place Casiphia, and I told them what they should say to Iddo and his brethren the Nethinim at the place Casiphia— that they should bring us servants for the house of our God.

And I sent them forth unto Iddo the chief at the place Casiphia; and I told them what they should say unto Iddo, and his brethren the Nethinim, at the place Casiphia, that they should bring unto us ministers for the house of our God.

I sent them to Iddo, the leader at Casiphia, with a message for him and his brothers, the temple servants at Casiphia, that they should bring us ministers for the house of our God.

And I sent them with commandment unto Iddo the chief at the place Casiphia, and I told them what they should say unto Iddo,[ and] to his brethren the Nethinims, at the place Casiphia, that they should bring unto us ministers for the house of our God.

當殿役的：有西哈的子孫、哈蘇巴的子孫、答巴俄的子孫、

利未人三十歲和以上的都被數點；按男的人丁計算、他們的數目有三萬八千。其中有二萬四千人監管永恆主之殿的工；有六千人做職員和司法人員；有四千人做守門的；又有四千人，大衛說：『要用我所作的讚美樂器來稱讚永恆主。』大衛將利未人革順、哥轄、米拉利的子孫分成了班次。

當殿役的和所羅門僕人的子孫、共有三百九十二人。

王說：『這一切話莫非有約押的手幫着你麼？』婦人回答說：『我主我王啊，我指着你的性命來起誓：對我主我王所說的這一切、是沒有人能偏左偏右的：這確是王的僕人約押吩咐我的；這一切話是他口授給你婢女的。

然後進去見王，照以下這樣的話對他說』：約押隨即將當說的話口授給那婦人。

我看我、我曾經把你們的族弟兄利未人從以色列人中選取出來、做禮物給了你們、來歸永恆主，來辦理會棚的事務。

所以永恆主這麼說：『你若轉回來，我就要將你帶回，讓你侍立在我面前，你若將寶貴的和賤劣的分別出來，你就可以做我的口舌；他們必轉回來歸於你，你卻不可轉去歸於他們。

我從前把你留在革哩底，是因為要讓你將留下未辦的事都辦整齊了，又照我所吩咐你的、在各城設立長老。

然後利未人就進去、在亞倫面前、和他兒子們面前、在會棚中辦他們的事務；永恆主指着利未人怎樣吩咐摩西，以色列人就怎樣向他們行。永恆主告訴摩西說：『關於利未人的職守是這樣：從二十五歲和以上的、他們要進來、在會棚的事務上從事服役；從五十歲起、他們就要停止服役的事務，不再辦事，只要在會棚裏幫助他的弟兄們守盡職守，事務就不辦了。對於利未人的職守、你要這樣向他們行。』

利未人也不必再抬帳幕和其中所使用的一切器皿了。』——因為照大衛臨終所吩咐的話：從二十歲和以上的、是利未人的數目。——『但是他們的職任是做亞倫子孫的助手來辦理永恆主之殿的事務；無論是在院子裏、是在貯藏室裏、或是在潔淨一切聖物的事情上、來辦上帝之殿的事務；管理陳設餅、素祭的細麵、無酵薄餅、或是在煎盤上作的、或是用油調勻的，又管理各樣量器和尺度。他們每天早晨要站着、稱謝讚美永恆主；晚上也要這樣；又在安息日、初一日、制定的節期、每逢按數照例有燔祭不斷地獻與永恆主的時候、他們總是站着、稱讚永恆主。他們要守盡會棚的職守、聖地方的職守、和他們族弟兄亞倫子孫的職守，來辦永恆主之殿的事務。

我要從他們的族弟兄中給他們興起一位神言人、像你一樣；我要把我的話放在他口中，他必將我所吩咐他的一切話都對他們說。

於是永恆主伸手觸着我的口。永恆主對我說：『看哪，我將我的話放你口中。

你要對他說話，將話語傳給他：我一定賜給你口才，也賜給他口才，指教你所應當行的事。

亞達薛西王七年、以色列人之中、祭司、利未人、歌唱的、守門的、當殿役的——之中、有的上了耶路撒冷。
