For seven days they celebrated with joy the Festival of Unleavened Bread, because the Lord had filled them with joy by changing the attitude of the king of Assyria so that he assisted them in the work on the house of God, the God of Israel.

For seven days they celebrated the Feast of Unleavened Bread with joy. That’s because the Lord had filled them with joy. They were glad because he had changed the mind of the king of Persia. So the king had helped them with the work on the house of the God of Israel.

And they kept the Feast of Unleavened Bread seven days with joy, for the Lord had made them joyful and had turned the heart of the king of Assyria to them, so that he aided them in the work of the house of God, the God of Israel.

Then they celebrated the Festival of Unleavened Bread for seven days. There was great joy throughout the land because the Lord had caused the king of Assyria to be favorable to them, so that he helped them to rebuild the Temple of God, the God of Israel.

They observed the Festival of Unleavened Bread for seven days with joy, because the LORD had made them joyful, having changed the Assyrian king’s attitude toward them, so that he supported them in the work on the house of the God of Israel.

And they held the Feast of Unleavened Bread for seven days with joy, because the Lord had made them happy, and had turned the heart of the king of Assyria toward them to encourage them in the work of the house of God, the God of Israel.

波斯王居魯士元年，耶和華為要應驗藉耶利米的口所說的話，就激發波斯王居魯士的心，使他下詔書通告全國，說：

王的心在耶和華手中像河水，他能使它隨意流轉。

既然你們是無酵的麵，要把舊酵除淨，好使你們成為新團；因為我們逾越節的羔羊－基督已經被殺獻為祭牲了。所以，我們來守這節，不可用舊酵，就是不可用惡毒、邪惡的酵，只用純潔真實的無酵餅。

以斯拉說：「耶和華－我們列祖的神是應當稱頌的！因他使王起這心願，使耶路撒冷耶和華的殿得榮耀，

在耶路撒冷的以色列人守除酵節七日，大大喜樂。利未人和祭司為耶和華演奏響亮的樂器，天天頌讚耶和華。

那時，在場的以色列人都守逾越節，又守除酵節七日。

「現在，河西的達乃總督和示他‧波斯乃，以及他們的同僚，就是住河西的官員，你們當遠離那裏。不要攔阻這神殿的工作，任由猶太人的省長和長老在原處建造神的這殿。我又降旨，吩咐你們為建造神的殿當向猶太人的長老這樣行：從王的財產中，由河西所繳納的貢銀，迅速支付這些人，免得工程停頓。他們向天上的神獻燔祭所需用的公牛犢、公綿羊、小綿羊，以及麥子、鹽、酒、油，都要照耶路撒冷祭司的話，每日供給他們，不得有誤；好叫他們獻馨香的祭給天上的神，又為王和王眾子的壽命祈禱。我再降旨，無論誰更改這命令，必從他房屋中拆出一根梁木，把他舉起，懸在其上，又使他的房屋為此成為糞堆。任何王或百姓若伸手更改這命令，拆毀在耶路撒冷神的這殿，願那立他名在那裏的神將他們滅絕。我大流士降這諭旨，你們要速速遵行。」

你要吃無酵餅七日，在第七日要向耶和華守節。這七日之內，要吃無酵餅；在你的全境內不可見有酵之物，也不可見酵母。

你們要吃無酵餅七日。第一日要把酵從你們各家中除去，因為從第一日到第七日，任何吃有酵之物的，必從以色列中剪除。第一日當有聖會，第七日也當有聖會。在這兩日，任何工作都不可做，只能預備各人的食物，這是惟一可做的工作。你們要守除酵節，因為我在這一日把你們的軍隊從埃及地領出來。所以，你們要世世代代守這日，立為永遠的定例。從正月十四日晚上，直到二十一日晚上，你們要吃無酵餅。在你們各家中，七日之內不可有酵，因為凡吃有酵之物的，無論是寄居的，是本地的，必從以色列的會中剪除。任何有酵的物，你們都不可吃；在你們一切的住處要吃無酵餅。」

我必使他們從埃及地歸回，從亞述召集他們，領他們到基列地和黎巴嫩；這些還不夠他們居住。耶和華必經過苦海，擊打海浪。尼羅河的深處全都枯乾，亞述的驕傲必降卑，埃及的權杖必除去。

除酵節的第一天，門徒來問耶穌：「你要我們在哪裏給你預備吃逾越節的宴席呢？」

人所行的若蒙耶和華喜悅，耶和華也使仇敵與他和好。

耶穌回答他：「若不是從上頭賜給你的，你就毫無權柄辦我，所以，把我交給你的那人罪更重了。」

約西亞的日子，埃及王法老尼哥上到幼發拉底河，到亞述王那裏；約西亞王去迎擊他。埃及王在米吉多看見約西亞，就殺了他。

所以耶和華使亞述王的將領來攻擊他們，用手銬銬住瑪拿西，用銅鏈鎖住他，把他帶到巴比倫去。
