At the same time Tattenai, the governor beyond the River came to them, with Shetharbozenai, and their companions, and asked them,“ Who gave you a decree to build this house, and to finish this wall?”

於是大利烏王下令說：“現在，河西那邊的總督達乃和示他．波斯乃，以及你們的同僚，就是在河西那邊的亞法薩迦人，你們要遠離那裡；

於是河西那邊的總督達乃、示他．波斯乃和他們的同僚，徹底遵照大利烏王的指示。

於是，我們就這樣問那些長老，對他們說：‘誰下令叫你們重建這殿，完成這工程呢？’

你們中間凡是他的子民，願神與他同在的，都可以上猶大的耶路撒冷去，建造耶和華以色列的神的殿，他是在耶路撒冷受敬拜的神。

我亞達薛西王下令給在河西那邊所有的庫官：無論以斯拉祭司，這位精通天上神律法的經學家，向你們要求甚麼，你們都要審慎照辦。
