Then Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel and Joshua son of Jozadak set to work to rebuild the house of God in Jerusalem. And the prophets of God were with them, supporting them.

Zerubbabel, the son of Shealtiel, began to work. So did Joshua, the son of Jozadak. They began to rebuild the house of God in Jerusalem. The prophets of God were right there with them. They were helping them.

Then Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel and Jeshua the son of Jozadak arose and began to rebuild the house of God that is in Jerusalem, and the prophets of God were with them, supporting them.

Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel and Jeshua son of Jehozadak responded by starting again to rebuild the Temple of God in Jerusalem. And the prophets of God were with them and helped them.

约萨达的儿子耶书亚和作祭司的亲族，撒拉铁的儿子所罗巴伯和他的兄弟都起来，建筑以色列神的祭坛，为要照着神人摩西律法书上所写的，在祭坛上献燔祭。

犹大人的长老因着哈该先知和易多的孙子撒迦利亚的信息，迅速重建。他们遵照以色列神的命令，波斯王古列、大利乌和亚达薛西的命令，完成重建圣殿的工作。

耶和华又使我看见大祭司约书亚站在耶和华的使者面前，撒但也站在约书亚右边控告他。耶和华对撒但说：“撒但哪！耶和华斥责你，那拣选了耶路撒冷的耶和华斥责你。这个人不是从火中抽出来的一根柴吗？”那时，约书亚穿着污秽的衣服，站在使者的面前。使者吩咐那些侍立在他面前的说：“你们要脱去他污秽的衣服。”又对约书亚说：“看哪！我已经除去了你的罪孽，要给你穿上华美的礼服。”

那时，撒拉铁的儿子所罗巴伯、约撒答的儿子大祭司约书亚和所有余剩的子民，都听从了耶和华他们神的话，听从了耶和华他们神所差来的哈该先知的话。众民在耶和华面前都存着敬畏的心。耶和华的使者哈该，奉耶和华的命，对众民说：“耶和华说：‘我与你们同在。’”于是耶和华激发了撒拉铁的儿子、犹大省长所罗巴伯的心，和约撒答的儿子大祭司约书亚的心，以及所有余剩子民的心，他们就来兴工建造万军之耶和华他们神的殿宇。那时是大利乌王第二年六月二十四日。

同月二十四日，耶和华的话再次临到哈该，说：“你要向犹大省长所罗巴伯说：‘我要震动天地，我必倾覆列国的宝座，消灭外族万国的势力，我必推翻战车和驾车的人；马匹和骑马的都必跌倒；各人必死在自己兄弟的刀下。’万军之耶和华说：‘撒拉铁的儿子，我的仆人所罗巴伯啊！到那日我必提拔你。’耶和华说：‘我必以你为印记。’万军之耶和华说：‘因为我拣选了你。’”

我们并不是要辖制你们的信仰，而是要作你们的同工，使你们喜乐，因为你们在信仰上已经站稳了。

他对我说：“这是耶和华对所罗巴伯所说的话：‘不是倚靠权势，不是倚靠能力，而是倚靠我的灵。’这是万军之耶和华说的。大山啊！你算得什么？你在所罗巴伯面前必夷为平地！他必安放那块平顶的石头，必有欢呼的声音说：‘愿恩惠、恩惠归与这殿（“这殿”原文作“她”）。’”耶和华的话又临到我说：“所罗巴伯的手奠立了这殿的根基，他的手也必完成这工；这样，你就知道万军之耶和华差遣了我到你们这里来。

你要拿这金银来做冠冕，戴在约撒答的儿子大祭司约书亚的头上，

耶和华说：“所罗巴伯啊！现在你要刚强。”耶和华说：“约撒答的儿子大祭司约书亚啊！你要刚强；这地的一切子民啊！你们也要刚强，并且要作工。”万军之耶和华说：“因为我与你们同在。这就是你们从埃及出来的时候，我与你们立约的话。现在我的灵住在你们中间；你们不要惧怕。”因为万军之耶和华这样说：“再过不多的时候，我要震动天、地、海洋和旱地。”万军之耶和华说：“我要震动万国，万国的珍宝就必运来；我要使这殿宇充满荣耀。”万军之耶和华说：“银子是我的，金子也是我的。”万军之耶和华说：“这殿宇后来的荣耀，必大过先前的荣耀。”万军之耶和华说：“在这地方，我必赐下平安。”
