This is the answer they gave us:“ We are the servants of the God of heaven and earth, and we are rebuilding the temple that was built many years ago, one that a great king of Israel built and finished.

Here is the answer they gave us. They said,“ We serve the God of heaven and earth. We are rebuilding the temple that was built many years ago. The great King Solomon built it and finished it.

And this was their reply to us:‘ We are the servants of the God of heaven and earth, and we are rebuilding the house that was built many years ago, which a great king of Israel built and finished.

“ This was their answer:‘ We are the servants of the God of heaven and earth, and we are rebuilding the Temple that was built here many years ago by a great king of Israel.

This is the reply they gave us: We are the servants of the God of the heavens and earth, and we are rebuilding the temple that was built many years ago, which a great king of Israel built and finished.

So they answered us as follows, saying,‘ We are the servants of the God of heaven and earth, and are rebuilding the temple that was built many years ago, which a great king of Israel built and finished.

以色列人出埃及地以後四百八十年，所羅門作以色列王的第四年西弗月，就是二月，他動工建造耶和華的殿。所羅門為耶和華所建的殿，長二十七公尺，寬九公尺，高十三公尺半。殿的前廊長九公尺，和殿的寬度一樣，寬四公尺半。又為殿做了窗架子內寬外窄的窗戶。緊靠殿牆，就是圍著外殿和內殿的牆，他又建造平臺，圍繞殿的四周，做成廂房。廂房的下層寬兩公尺兩公寸；中層寬兩公尺七公寸；第三層寬三公尺一公寸。他在殿牆外面四周留有暗架，所以梁木不必插入殿牆裡。建殿是用採石場預備好了的石料；所以建殿的時候，在殿裡聽不到鎚子、斧頭或任何鐵器的聲音。

“凡在人面前承認我的，我在我天父面前也要承認他；

如果你們認為事奉耶和華不好，那麼今日你們就可以選擇你們所要事奉的：是你們列祖在大河那邊事奉的神呢，還是你們現在所住亞摩利人之地的神呢？至於我和我家，我們必事奉耶和華。”

至於我，我絕不以別的誇口，只誇我們主耶穌基督的十字架。藉著這十字架，在我來說，世界已經釘在十字架上了；就世界來說，我也已經釘在十字架上了。

我在君王面前講論你的法度，也不以為恥。

所羅門在耶路撒冷，在耶和華向他父親大衛顯現過的摩利亞山上，就是在耶布斯人阿珥楠的禾場上，大衛預備的地方，開工建造耶和華的殿。所羅門執政後第四年二月初二開始建造。所羅門建造神殿宇的根基是這樣：按古時的尺寸，長二十七公尺，寬九公尺。殿前走廊長九公尺，與殿的寬度相等；高九公尺（“高九公尺”原文作“高一百二十”；現參照古譯本修譯）；裡面貼上純金。大殿的牆都蓋上松木，又貼上精金，又在上面刻上棕樹和鍊子。
