我怒之日、彼棄金銀於逵衢、欲救其命、欲果其腹、欲安其心、亦屬無益、昔作惡以得之、今使之顛躓。

“‘ They will throw their silver into the streets, and their gold will be treated as a thing unclean. Their silver and gold will not be able to deliver them in the day of the Lord’s wrath. It will not satisfy their hunger or fill their stomachs, for it has caused them to stumble into sin.

“‘ They will throw their silver into the streets. They will treat their gold like an“ unclean” thing. Their silver and gold won’t be able to save them on the day I pour out my anger. It will not be able to satisfy their hunger. Their stomachs can’t be filled with it. Their silver and gold have tripped them up. It has made them fall into sin.

“ They will throw their money in the streets, tossing it out like worthless trash. Their silver and gold won’t save them on that day of the Lord’s anger. It will neither satisfy nor feed them, for their greed can only trip them up.

They will not satisfy their appetites or fill their stomachs, for these were the stumbling blocks that brought about their iniquity.

在耶和華發怒的日子，他們的金銀也不能救他們，全地都要被他的妒火吞滅；因為他要徹底毀滅地上所有的居民，真是可怕的毀滅。

在神發怒的日子，財物毫無益處；唯有公義能救人脫離死亡。

“人子啊！這些人已經把他們的偶像接到心裡去，把那陷他們在罪孽中的絆腳石放在自己面前，我怎能讓他們向我求問呢？因此，你要告訴他們，對他們說：‘主耶和華這樣說：以色列家的人中，凡把他的偶像接到心裡去，把那陷自己在罪孽中的絆腳石放在自己面前，卻又來見先知的，我耶和華必按他拜眾多偶像的罪報應他，

因為以色列家的人中，或是在以色列寄居的外族人中，凡與我疏遠，把他們的偶像接到心裡去，把那陷自己在罪孽中的絆腳石放在自己面前，卻又來見先知，要為自己求問我的，我耶和華必親自報應他；

因為這些利未人曾在他們的偶像前侍候這人民，成了陷以色列家在罪孽中的絆腳石。因此，我向他們舉手起誓，他們必要擔當自己的罪孽。這是主耶和華的宣告。

邪惡在他的口中雖然甘甜，他把邪惡藏在自己的舌下。他雖然愛惜不捨，含在口中，然而他的食物在他腹中卻要變壞，在他裡面成為眼鏡蛇的毒汁。他吞下了財寶，還要把它吐出來，神要從他的腹中把它掏出來，他必吸吮眼鏡蛇的毒液，腹蛇的舌頭必把他殺死。他必不得看見江河，就是流蜜與奶的江河。他勞苦所得的必歸別人，自己卻不得吃用；他交易得來的財利，自己卻不得享用。因為他欺壓窮人，不顧他們，強搶不是自己建造的房屋。因為他內心沒有安寧，他不能保存他喜愛的東西。他吃得一無所剩，所以他的福樂不能持久；他在滿足有餘的時候，陷入困境，受過苦的人的手都臨到他身上。他正在填飽肚腹的時候，神就把猛烈的怒氣降在他身上，他正在吃飯的時候，神要把這怒氣如雨降在他身上。

然後，我要對我的靈魂說：靈魂啊，你擁有許多好東西，足夠多年享用，只管安安逸逸地吃喝快樂吧！’神卻對他說：‘無知的人哪，今天晚上，你的靈魂必被取去，你所預備的要歸給誰呢？’

你要拋棄你那些包著銀的雕像和鍍了金的鑄像，如同污穢之物一般拋棄它們，又對它們說：“去吧！”

你們為甚麼用銀子去買那不是食物的呢？為甚麼用你們勞碌得來的去買那不能使人飽足的呢？你們要留心聽我的話，就可以吃美物，使你們的心靈享受肥甘。

到那日，人必把那些自己所做、供自己敬拜的金偶像和銀偶像，拋給田鼠和蝙蝠。

人若賺得全世界，卻賠上自己的生命，有甚麼好處呢？人還能用甚麼換回自己的生命呢？

貪愛銀子的，不因有銀子滿足；貪愛財富的，也不因得利知足。這也是虛空。

他們還沒有因所願的滿足，食物仍在他們口中的時候，神的怒氣就向他們發作，殺了他們中間最肥壯的人，擊倒了以色列的年輕人。

大衛也說：“願他們的筵席成為他們的網羅、陷阱、絆腳石和報應；

於是他們在黃昏的時候起來逃跑，他們丟下他們的帳幕，他們的馬匹和他們的驢子；軍營仍在那裡，他們卻只顧逃命去了。這些患痲風病的人來到軍營的外邊，他們進入其中一座帳幕，又吃又喝，並且從那裡取去金子、銀子和衣服，然後離去，把東西收藏起來。他們再回去，進入另一座帳幕，從那裡拿走財物，去收藏起來。

他們就去追蹤亞蘭軍直到約旦河。看哪，沿途堆滿了衣物器具，就是亞蘭人在匆忙逃走時丟棄的。於是使者回去向王報告。
