Your altars will become desolate, and your incense altars will be broken. I will cast down your slain men before your idols.

你们的祭坛必然荒凉，你们的日像必被打碎。我要使你们被杀的人倒在你们的偶像面前；

傾爾祭壇、毀爾偶像、殺以色列族、偶像之前、尸相枕藉、祭壇四周、骨骸散棄、

爾之祭壇必傾圮、爾之日像必毀折、我使爾被殺者仆於爾之偶像前、

Your altars will be demolished and your incense altars will be smashed; and I will slay your people in front of your idols.

Your altars will be torn down. Your incense altars will be smashed. And I will kill your people in front of the statues of your gods.

Also he took away out of all the cities of Judah the high places and the sun images; and the kingdom was quiet before him.

I will destroy your high places, and cut down your incense altars, and cast your dead bodies upon the bodies of your idols; and my soul will abhor you.

He cried against the altar by Yahweh’s word, and said,“ Altar! Altar! Yahweh says:‘ Behold, a son will be born to David’s house, Josiah by name. On you he will sacrifice the priests of the high places who burn incense on you, and they will burn men’s bones on you.’”

You will know that I am Yahweh, when their slain men are among their idols around their altars, on every high hill, on all the tops of the mountains, under every green tree, and under every thick oak, the places where they offered pleasant aroma to all their idols.

I will lay the dead bodies of the children of Israel before their idols. I will scatter your bones around your altars.In all your dwelling places, the cities will be laid waste and the high places will be desolate; that your altars may be laid waste and made desolate, and your idols may be broken and cease, and your incense altars may be cut down, and your works may be abolished.

“ At that time,” says Yahweh,“ they will bring out the bones of the kings of Judah, the bones of his princes, the bones of the priests, the bones of the prophets, and the bones of the inhabitants of Jerusalem, out of their graves.They will spread them before the sun, the moon, and all the army of the sky, which they have loved, which they have served, after which they have walked, which they have sought, and which they have worshiped. They will not be gathered or be buried. They will be for dung on the surface of the earth.

As Josiah turned himself, he spied the tombs that were there in the mountain; and he sent, and took the bones out of the tombs, and burned them on the altar, and defiled it, according to Yahweh’s word which the man of God proclaimed, who proclaimed these things.Then he said,“ What monument is that which I see?” The men of the city told him,“ It is the tomb of the man of God, who came from Judah, and proclaimed these things that you have done against the altar of Bethel.”He said,“ Let him be! Let no one move his bones.” So they let his bones alone, with the bones of the prophet who came out of Samaria.All the houses also of the high places that were in the cities of Samaria, which the kings of Israel had made to provoke Yahweh to anger, Josiah took away, and did to them according to all the acts that he had done in Bethel.He killed all the priests of the high places that were there, on the altars, and burned men’s bones on them; and he returned to Jerusalem.

He broke in pieces the pillars, cut down the Asherah poles, and filled their places with men’s bones.

They broke down the altars of the Baals in his presence; and he cut down the incense altars that were on high above them. He broke the Asherah poles, the engraved images, and the molten images in pieces, made dust of them, and scattered it on the graves of those who had sacrificed to them.He burned the bones of the priests on their altars, and purged Judah and Jerusalem.

He will also break the pillars of Beth Shemesh, that is in the land of Egypt; and he will burn the houses of the gods of Egypt with fire.’”
